Unusual street names

My wife and I were on our way to her doctor's appointment in Temple (about 45 minutes drive south of Waco), and I had to smile because I spotted a street called Mama Dog Crescent. I would consider that as an unusual name.

From your experiences, do you recall seeing any unique or "out of the world" or unusual street names?

I don't have any great ones.. but everyone always got a kick out of the fact that I grew up on Chippy Lane. My friend also lives on Easy Street (in more way than one).

Andover, Minnesota has named all of their streets after elements.

Who doesn't want to take a drive down Barium Street?

Littleton, CO...Jackass Hill Road. I may know a guy who had a run-in with the police in high school while trying to "acquire" the sign...

Rudy Vallee once petitioned the city of Los Angeles to get the street he lived on renamed "Rue de Vallee." Unfortunatley for him, not everyone was in love with him as much as he was himself.

This has to be the first recorded reference to a 1930s crooner on these boards.

I got one: Peyton Manning Pass. Yep, my alma mater has a habit of naming street after living people, particularly those that are in their 20s. PMP used to get stolen all the time, so they moved the sign up to 15 feet above street level. Now, you have people driving around campus looking for PMP but cannot see the sign from their car. Brilliant!

Ok, I am bitter. I have embraced it and wallow in it.

in Charleston (SC) there is a road my parents were thinking of buying a house on but didn't because they were worried about the resale value: Fault Line Drive.

I also remember that there is a town called Natick (MA) that has a street named after Doug Flutie- Flutie Pass.

In Waco, we have a street that may not sound strange or unusual, but we have this major street called New Road. There was no reason for calling it New Road, but when it was being built from what I understand and people would start calling it New Road.

Of course Opportunity Drive just in south of St. Cloud on I-94 in MN.

In Edina there is an Abercrombie ave. Makes sense if you know anything about Edina, MN.

There was a street in my neighborhood called Rubicon Rd. I thought it was funny to cross the Rubicon...and then return.
