Does anybody know anything about Shattuck this year...?

...Just wondering because my P Lake boys play them on Wednesday the 26th down in Faribault...

I think Ryan Ward (of the Swarm) is coaching them.

Not sure about the talent though.

I was a little surprised (but only a little) at Holy Angels beating Totino Grace. Anybody catch the game? Is TG not quite at last year's level, or does Hurley just change the game too much for defenses?

Eastview Score

Postby Hammer23 on Mon Apr 24, 2006 7:30 pm

Final score from Eastview tonight:

Eastview 7, Breck 1

After a back and fourth scoreless first quarter with great defense and goaltending on both sides, Eastview rattled off 5 in a row in the second quarter one of which was three men down. Kudos to the Breck goalie who played unbelievably, he was literally standing on his head.

The difference for AHA this year is that Hurley is not alone.

Tony Libra and others are taking advantage of what Hurley does to a defense.

I worked with TG over spring break and I know Hoban is doing a good job. When I saw them practicing they seemed better then last year, but I am not sure. They may have had a bad game or AHA is that good. AHA seems like they have picked it up since last year, which is good to hear. TG also has some new goalies which may or may not be a factor.

Lets try and create a poll for high school maybe. I don't know if we need a new topic or what? (Sam?)

I think it has to include these teams as of right now...Blake, Osseo, TG, AHA, EP and what seems (score wise) as a surprising team, Edina. I have not seen them play yet...

That was no order but if I had to, not including Osseo...
Blake
EP
AHA
TG
Edina

At the least, Eastview needs to be in there, but also Apple Valley, Benilde, and Eagan, possibly Wayzata or Mounds View.

polls

Postby Hammer23 on Tue Apr 25, 2006 6:47 am

I know they haven't faced any of the top teams in the state yet, but MontiQuois has some big wins. They might not be the strongest opponents, but they out scored them by a ton. Maybe they could round out the top 7 or so until they play stronger opponents.

Top 10, according to laxpower:

1 Blake 93.75 98.20 93.65 -0.91 0.46 0.22 1.00 5- 0- 0
2 Benilde St. Margaret 93.48 98.01 92.52 0.00 0.48 0.18 1.00 3- 0- 0
3 MontiQuois 93.40 97.95 92.95 0.00 0.00 0.00 1.00 4- 0- 0
4 Academy Holy Angels 92.53 97.32 92.49 0.00 -0.17 0.28 1.00 3- 0- 0
5 Eastview 91.66 96.69 91.16 -1.59 2.12 0.25 1.00 4- 0- 0
6 Wayzata 88.18 94.13 89.13 0.00 0.00 0.12 1.00 1- 0- 0
7 Osseo 88.08 94.06 90.98 0.00 -0.67 0.03 0.75 3- 1- 0
8 Edina 87.28 93.47 88.47 0.00 0.00 0.43 1.00 4- 0- 0
9 Mounds View 85.23 91.95 88.62 0.00 0.00 -0.03 0.67 2- 1- 0
10 Totino Grace 84.31 91.15 87.83 0.00 0.82 -0.12 0.50 1- 1- 0

I may not be right, but it seems teams move around a lot on laxpower without playing, which probably means that if teams you've beaten do well then it upgrades your strength-of-victories or something.

Didn't Hurley have Libra last year too?
