Wow, impressive showing by Whitman, I think this team is really going to be dangerous here in the seasons to come. It looks like they really have started to play some great lacrosse. Great job guys, I know you'd have liked the W but I'm impressed so keep it up.

Linfield over WOU surprised me as well, great job to you guys too! I thought that was going to be a really really close game.

Willamette 5, Lewis and Clark 4

The streak ends in a hard fought game throughout, this really might have challenged for game of the week (however WC and WWU seems to have takent that). Lewis and Clark is a great group of guys and like us, though lacking superior talent, they play the game they love and they play it with class and as true competitors. I wish both our programs more luck next year.

Congrats to Willamette for breaking the streak. I commend you guys for going out there every game and giving it your all. I know how tought it can be when you lose a lot of lacrosse games. My high school team lost every game during my freshman and sophomore years. However, we played every game hard, and loved going out there and competing. Sounds like you guys have been doing much of the same.

Keep on working hard to improve your guys' individual skills, and recruit as much as possible. I promise you, the grass will eventually turn greener.

Montana over Albertson 22-5 today in Missoula. Great weekend by the Griz overall and excellent play today by Zander Ault and Ryan Frey...among many others. Zander had a season-high 11 points (3g, 8a) and Ryan Frey played another amazing game at defense, shutting down Cody Hart for three quarters and showing why he is the best player in this league. Good games in goal for all the keepers...Blake got shelled but still made some great saves and Dave "Killer" Crosby and Colin Connery came up with some big saves in their respective halves. Thanks much to the 'Yotes for making the trip up and good luck to them next season.

Just a quick comment and a compliment..

First to the Wolves of WOU, congrats on another successful season. While it may not feel like it, you guys are a very classy team who were one win away from making the playoffs in both of your first two years of existence. I know the true measure of a new team is where are they in four years when all the original members are gone, but like other new teams in our league, I think the Wolves in it for the long haul.

As teams wind down their seasons, and begin to look to next year, I would like to point out that 5 of the 6 teams that made it to the playoffs played atleast one game this season against a team from another conference. Even though we have not faired well in these games, it is a major measure of growth for your team and our conference. The reality is that all of us have players who picked up the game when they arrived at our respective schools, and many will never be All-Americans. Yet the biggest factor in success at this level is team chemistry. As I sit here trying to break down PLU for example, their biggest strength, like others, is how they play as a team. For all of us who played in this league in the past, some of the best stories come from the road trips. Our annual Spring Break road trip is completely paid for out of the players pockets, and it is a blast. We lost all four games this year, but still came back a better team than we were when we left. Get the money together and get out there and play, win or lose, you'll be better because of it.

I would be curious to hear guys from PLU and WWU chime in on this as well.

Uh, Tim, what happens on the road stays on the road. At least that was the rule when I was at PLU.

Seriously, Tim makes a great point about how playing good teams on the road helps to develop team chemistry and helps to provide the framework for development that improves a team over the season and the program over time. It's a great measuring stick to be able to see how you match up against superior programs and it also helps you understand what you need to do ultimately to become as successful as those programs. You don't have to kill yourself scheduling like Bubba but it helps to "play up" and it's fun to travel. And it makes our league look good in that we'll go anywhere, any time, to play anybody.

I definatly second what Tim says as well. I know if our regular conference schedule wasn't so expensive we would have played even more OCC games this year. We really appreciate Tim stepping up to organize our weekend in Utah this year and for making that a yearly event and also to Western Washington for making the trip out to Missoula so we could get some games in against the guys at Montana State. It's great to see everybody trying to step up their game and bring this league up as a whole.

While I cannot speak for PLU as a whole, I can speak for my own observations. Having missed the majority of the regular season, I've had the opportunity to watch our team mature, adapt, and evlove into the team it is today.

With the regular season at its conclusion I feel it appropriate to reflect upon it for a moment. Our season was anything but spectacular to begin with. Our first three games were played into OT after our opponents came from behind to tie the game - two of which we lost - and we got waxed by Claremont and USD. However, through all of this we have managed to become the team we are now. A group of guys, with a like-minded focus striving to achieve the same goal - to play the best WE can and settle for nothing less. Our standard of achievement isn't measured by wins and losses. We determine success by simply living up to our own expectations.

We learn from adversity and find a way to make things work for us. I think this is a lesson that applies itself universally to those who choose to see it.

As we enter the playoffs I would like to congratulate every team that has made it this far. We are excited about the level of competition and the challenges ahead.

For those teams who didn't make the playoffs, keep in mind that great things can be accomplished when preceeded by an equally great vision and will. I believe that hard work is at the root of all meaningful successes. If you live up to your own standard of excellence, the results will take care of themselves. Good luck in the off-season.

Matt- I'm just curious if you're going to be healthy for playoffs...I have some follow up doctor appts myself this week, but it would be great to see you back in action.

The doctor's say my ankle is stable enough to play on - so, yeah I'll be back for the playoffs. It feels pretty good and I'm really looking forward to being a positive contributor to the team. In all honesty - I'm stoked to be back. I wasn't expecting to come back at all. Thanks for asking - I aprpeciate it. Good luck with your appointments - and listent to the doc's. I'm glad I did. Good luck to your team as well.
