At least for my part, they were not tongue-in-cheek, but rather a response to a poster who chose to attack a comment I made in the SELC forum with a personal remark.

a 5 goal loss to Bryant is a blow out? What bothers me about FSU , is if they truely won 95% of the faceoffs against BYU and beat BYU in ground balls like their press release says then how did they loose?

As an alumnus, I am more bothered by the stats then losing to Bryant and Post, who yes Bluevelvet Im going to say it; would easily beat the west coast teams.

Ive said it before, let the wcll form their own league where they can gloat about themselves all day long.

You guys are a trip.
I always include the RMLC and Michigan as top conferences/teams. I don't tout the WCLL, I tout the competition in the WCLL.
WCLL teams go to the RMLC for OOC competition and they lose more than their share.
I think it is an easy way to vent your frustration to try to turn the issue to east v. west; or west coast elitism.
The truth is that if the WCLL split off on their own, the RMLC or Michigan would win every year, they win almost every year as it is now. Then you would be jealous of the RMLC, a new enemy. Talk about haters!

Take a chill pill bro. I think the real problem that people have is that FSU had an opportunity to show that they were worthy of their ranking and unfortunately for them, they did not capitalize on this opportunity.

I don't know what this has to do with the WCLL at all. It has to do with the fact that FSU thinks they are entitled to an elite status within the MDIA on the basis of one big win last year at the National Tournament.

I don't think anybody from the WCLL thinks they would beat either of those D2 teams, BlueVelvet included. They would destroy the WCLL teams as well. However, I think FSU should concentrate on beating the MDIA powers before they venture off and play ranked D2 teams. In regards to Hugh Nunn's comments, Whittier has not always crushed WCLL teams..in fact, the opposite happened in the past...do a little research before posting.

Do they count or not?
This is a childish question.
They suited up and played a 60 min lax game with uniforms refs and everything. Their records should reflect all games played.(nobody made fsu play these teams) People are going to take something out of the scores that are reported. CSU played whittier well and lost you take something from that. They also crushed Colorado College again you take something from that as well. I'm sure if FSU beat a top ten D2 team there would be pages upon pages of hype, but would it have counted?

That question has already been answered in the negative during the course of this thread...childish or not.

I think the real problem that people have is that FSU had an opportunity to show that they were worthy of their ranking and unfortunately for them, they did not capitalize on this opportunity.

3 goal loss...That result might say to you that FSU is not even in the same league as BYU but to me it says there was a hard fought game in Tallahassee between a perennial power with revenge on their mind and an upstart program trying to prove that last year was no fluke.

It has to do with the fact that FSU thinks they are entitled to an elite status within the MDIA on the basis of one big win last year at the National Tournament.

Really? FSU thinks that? Did the great Florida State hype machine issue that statement because it's news to me. The Seminole players would be the first to tell you that as a result of what was without question the biggest win in school history they are under tremendous pressure this year to build on that success. Now, some yahoo fan may shoot off on these message boards behind the safety of a screen name but I don't think that FSU is the only team to have that happen. If folks want to get all bent out of shape over that, well then that degrades the discourse on these message boards and we sink to name calling and statements like, "take a chill pill bro".

I hope that FSU continues to try to play the best competition available, be it D2 teams in Florida or western trips. I believe the only way to improve is to constantly challenge yourself and is the true essence of competition.

Aren't these "fans" who hide behind screen names players on the team? What is so wrong with my statement? He was denigrating the WCLL for no reason, and as far as I know, this is a thread about FSU, so why did he feel the need to bring up so-called WCLL elitism?

I have no problem with FSU, I am just pointing out the fact that they only play one top 10 team this year, and they did not come through. I wish them well the rest of the year.

FSU players are not allowed to use the message boards. So nothing in these forums ever comes from a current player
