Thursday night - MARCH MADNESS....

Postby Sonny on Fri Mar 24, 2006 12:30 am

Wow.... Some amazing finishes tonight.

LSU takes out Duke. The Zags lead UCLA the entire game only to lose in the last few seconds after two weird turnovers. West Virginia nails a 3 to tie the game with 6 seconds left only to allow Texas to run the court and give up three the other way to win.

Hope Friday night's action is as good as tonight's.

I only caught the ZAGS lose it to UCLA, but wow what a game. Morrison was obviously devistated crying on the ground at midcourt. Will the zags ever make it past the sweet 16?

Even Tennessee lost to LSU this year. It happens to the best teams.

Anyone else think that Stanley Roberts and John "Hot Plate" Williams think that Glen Davis stoll their game?

Speaking of Glen Davis, whatever happened to Glenn Davis who played with the Astros and later the Baltimore Orioles?

I must admit that seeing Morrison and JJ Redick cry on the same night was enjoyable.

You know I always route for the ACC (Terps Fan), typically no matter what. Somehow it was quite enjoyable watching Reddick walk off the court in that manner. The Zags though...................man!

Finally....A little love around these boards.
Just remember....I called this from way back. So, now all we have to do is get past Texas, and thats all she wrote. Texas beat WVU, we beat WVU....So, ipso facto.....we are better than texas.
I never had a steady girlfriend like you, but I did get kicked in the balls once by a mule.

Tennessee beat Texas in men's basketball.

Tennessee beat LSU in football.

I guess you aren't the man if you beat the man, huh?

I admit that the Zags should have won last night. They lead the entire way and somehow let it slip away at the end. Morrison needs to get rid of that Cheesy Mustache.

Zags

Postby Dan Wishengrad on Fri Mar 24, 2006 12:49 pm

I too was sad to see Gonzaga's run come to an end. But with a 17-pt. lead the Zags just did not milk the clock or take good care of the basketball in the second half. Give UCLA some credit for not giving up and for an amazing comeback. At the very end GU made a horrendous mistake not getting ball handlers onto the court and getting the inbounds pass to a guard. While I admire Coach Few, I think he should share some of the blame with the players on the court for letting it all slip away at the end.

Just my two cents of course...

I thought that Zags would have won if Batista did not casually hold the ball when he was trapped by two UCLA defenders when his teammate was open on his left side. If he could have held on the ball in a different way, the outcome may have been different.

However, kudos to UCLA for keep plugging in and fighting to the end. Morrison really "laid his life out there" on the court.

This expression is actually apropos for baseball, but I will say it anyway, "that is the breaks of the game."

It is the same way with life that we have to deal with it and move on.

BC is killing me... How can you lose that game? oh yeah, not guard the guy under the hoop, and not defend the pass to the hoop from the ball.
