D-B Post Game Updates

Since we really don't know a lot about each other in D-B, and there isn't as much coverage of us as the D-A programs, what if we all posted a quick post-game summary after games and we can all see how each other is matching up verses other teams. We could go to other teams web pages, but this would be a lot easier, and I think it will be a good way for us to learn more about each other and create more of a stir in D-B. What do other D-B teams think about this idea?

im in agreement...the B division is so spread and with so many teams going down this year it would be great to see who came down and how we are all doing.

Until teams in the B division commit to travel and play out-of-conference games, it will be really difficult to determine how everyone stacks up.

I know #3 UVSC is travelling to Idaho to play #6 PLU and #15 UPS - this will be great for the B division and I hope this sparks more competition between neighboring conferences.

Here in the Northwest we are already working on plans for an invitational - trying to get 8 top-25 teams from the B division together for a 3 day event in February of 2006. (email me at jstock6@aol.com for more info.)

Any teams that really like that idea that are OUTSIDE the pncll and are willing to travel to play top B-division competition early next season, let us know about it and you will be notified when our plans get solidified (date, times, venue, etc.).

The growth of talent and competition in the A division relied heavily on travel and out-of-conference play. Hopefully the top B division teams will follow suit and really add credibility to our conference.

I know at PLU we are very much looking forward to future trips to WCLL and RMLL regions to increase the level of competition.

Those that are serious about the national poll and national tournaments are already making the OOC journeys. The seriousness is there with the top teams.

You're right, several B teams are playing each other this year, but what Jason is talking about is getting 8-10 top 25 B teams to play each other at the same site, and see how they actually stack up against each other. It allows us all to talk about UVSC this, Calvin that, Claremont this, and so on... He played him, and she played him therefore, are okay for a comparison sake, and as of now it's all we have, but getting these teams to actually play would be great. One of the nice things about Tacoma, is PLU and UPS are only 10 miles apart. Not too mention, Western Washington at #9 less than 3 hours North. There is a lot more in the works with Jason's event, please don't count it out yet. This first year in Blaine could give us a great indication of which Conferences are the strongest, or if there really are 20 teams that could win it at any given time.

Not to be a nit picker, but UPS is 11, and finished 8th last year. I realize Jason plans on beating us and knocking us down in the rankings, but not yet, we still get to play the game!

everybody has to remember that this is the second year that the B division has been a structured league. and even more important a lot of A division teams from last year have come down including ourselves to help spark the B division and make it a legitimate division. like kyle was saying this year is all about he said she said. and like what Jason was saying this year in Blaine will be good indication at the major players in the B division. here in the pncll we have 3 top 15 teams and could have as many as 5 come the end of the season. however no one knows who has the stronger conference or what not. by having B teams send updates it helps the rest of the nation to get an idea as to is going where and who to look out for. i think a three day tourney in the northwest would be great. see you all on the field!!

I know that you are probably trying to save on travel cost, but it is my opinon that the event would be better atttented and more fun if the "invitational" was outdoors in a warm climate. Most of us from central minnesota would rather pay money for a plane ticket to a place like Texas, California etc. and get a healthy tan then be stuck in an indoor "bubble" on turf in Tacoma.
I know the UT-Arlington did a similar event (that we attentend, and it was 78 and sunny) and it worked out great. They have the field space and the organazational skills to run a sweet "invitational". Maybe next year UTA can keep it to top B division teams next year , instead of having CSU, Auburn, TAMU etc...

I know UVSC is also playing Texas Arlington and Ft. Lewis the following weekend. Ft. Lewis is also traveling to California the same week UVSC goes to Boise. There definitely will be a lot to talk about in the near future.

Why will there be alot to talk about? I thought there would be no at large berths, just 8 conference winners.
So even if a team is #2 nationally, they don't go to MN if they don't win their conference.
Isn't this right?

You mean to guess about how the conferences stack up. The only important thing is how the conference winners stack up. That will be determined in MN. The performance of the 3rd place GRLC B team against the 4th place SELC B team is irrelevant this year.
When the tournament expands to 16 teams, with at large births, I can see a purpose to all the self promotion, etc. But not now.
Hopefully, by next year, there will be a separate set of forums for B division discussion.

Guilty.
Just kidding. I supported the B division as a separate but equal member of the MDIA. I argued, on this board, that the B division should not be a developmental league where teams are encouraged to move up to the A division.
But now that it is here, to be perfectly honest, I'm just not very interested. I get frustrated that the A and B division information are mixed together. I think it would be better to separate into A & B forums, if software allows.
