Automatic Bids From "Weaker" Conferences

Which conferences will most likely send someone unranked. In other words, what will be the hypothetical cut off point for an at-large bid for teams like Utah or Cal-Poly who might not win out in their conference.

Barring any conference upset winners, the cutoff will be about #13 for the last at-large. The LSA, UMLL, & PCLL will probably have an AQ below that ranking.

12 is by no means a guarantee, but it would be fairly unlikely that you would get ousted from there.

In order for that to happen, first you have to have three AQ's from outside of the top 13. Then you need for there to be two conference winner upsets under the following conditions- The winning team has to be outside the top 13, and the losing team has to stay higher than 12. So this has to not only happen once, but twice, and is therefore not very likely. I think the big issue is that it owuld be tough for them not to move closer in the rankings- ie not likely that an entirely unranked team will beat a top 12 team. It's certainly possible, but if I were in the 12th spot, I'd feel pretty confident. 13 though has reason to sweat a little.

okay now the utes are 14 and they're in if all highest seeds win their respective conference. hows that work?

B/C 16 teams got the the tourney and right now only PCLL and LSA have teams not ranked in top 16. So those conferences would get the 15 and 16 seeds.
