2-1 Michigan 7 minutes left in first Q. #10 Matt Hudson unassisted for UMich. Defensive intensity has led to sloppy offense, lots of ground balls.

3-1 Michigan #10 Matt Hudson scored again on a rebound, on an unsettled situation, after UCSB killed a penalty. 2 min in quarter.
Still sloppy but UCSB has been offsides ruining offensive opportunities. Some confusion for Gauchos.
Michigan has already matched their total from last year's 4-3 loss in the semis.
End of first quarter 3-1 Michigan.

Michigan has taken 6-3 lead. #16 Jim Constantine unassisted and #1 Peter Krauss from #10 Matt Hudson.
Much better lacrosse in this quarter. Michigan killed a penalty. UCSB has had 3 great shots from point blank range but did not score. 2 saves by Michigan goalie and one missed cage.

6-3 Michigan at the half.
RudyFan says that in the first quarter Michigan was the sharper team but UCSB has improved in the second.
Michigan has scored most of their goals on unsettled situations. UCSB defense plays very well; stops the shot or strips the ball; but Michigan picks up the loose ball, shoots and scores.
Most of Michigans turnovers are due to UCSB longsticks stripping the ball. Most UCSB turnovers are due to bad decision making and bad passes.
The game would be closer if UCSB could hit the net with their good shots from close in. The saves were more a result of poor shooting than great goalie work. UCSB has hit the goalie in the chest a few times.
That's all that I can remember of what he said.

End of three. 7-4 Michigan. UCSB hit the goalie in the facemask just before the end of the quarter.
UCSB dominated the play in the quarter, but not the score.
I'm sure that Michigan has hit pipe and missed open shots as well. I guess the UCSB misses have been more noticeable.
