UT beat SMU, unofficial score is 10-9.
Smu lead nearly the entire game, but with about four minutes left the longhorns started putting the ball in the net. they recovered from about a four goal deficit in the 4th. Ut rallied and tied the game with :40 secs left. On next possession Smu coughed the ball up on Offense after ut's goalie left the cage to double carrington and ut recovered the ball, ut pushed it upfield and UT's Kroviak scoops a ground ball in front of crease and scores behind the back shot as time expires. wow, good game on both sides of the ball. ut reached a little deeper than smu, but smu is a much improved squad whose 0-3 record does not reflect their talent. ut advances to 3-0 and plays lsu tomorrow.

The last LSA game for February 11 is still on in Plano:

Texas Tech vs. Texas A&M

It will be interesting to see how that game was played out tonight.

Just got back from the game. And I've got to say even from a Michigan boy it was cold. Tech I thought looked dominant. Had the ball in A & M's end most of the game. Tech's defense was very impressive lead by Hogan who played great. Kurzweil, they're goalie was outstanding. And No. 3 (roster has him as a middie, but I thought he played attack) played great too. Overall Tech just seemed to want it more. Their defense was aggressive swarmed the ball. A & M couldn't really seem to get anything going and looked a little lackluster. A & M's defense, outside of No. 44 Reinsvold, didn't look good at all. The slides were slow and there was very few bodies on the ground after doorstep shots. A & M also made alot of mistakes. Tons of dropped passes which really seemed to kill moral. I still think Tech would win 9 times out of 10. They were very good and should be the team to reckoned with in the LSA. Also a great turnout I must say for the weather. One sideline was packed with highschoolers. Good to see.

A&M played very hard and didn't let up at all. We came out pretty upset that we weren't getting much love on the forums and let people know we were still for real. The play of our defense and attack was stellar. The defense played hard but clean, and the offense held onto the ball and rode hard. The best game I've seen Tech play. Good luck to the Ags for the rest of the season, we hope to see them again in the playoffs.

Congrats to the Horns on their comeback.

Not only Tech wanted badly to win this game, the Tech guys wanted to bring their A game to showcase their team to their hometown boys from Plano. Like benji said, "Virtually a home game for Tech" came to be true. :)

Indeed! For everyone that wasn't there, yall missed a great showing of TTU lacrosse. Respect to A&M though, they never let up for a second. Congrats to UT today on the comeback too!

I left at halftime and it was 9 or 10 to 1 at that point. Tech just completely dominated tonight. Congrats to the Red Raiders for coming to play.

Not to make an excuse for the A&M team, but most of them had been working the high school tournament all day since about 8:00 this morning in EXTREMELY cold and windy weather even for North Texas. And the sad thing is it is supposed to be even colder Sunday for the rest of the tournament.

Defense,

Number 3 is Mark Grantham. He played a few years back with us but then took a break and has returned. He is a middie but we do like to work him down low, and he is especially good on the crease. He is one of the guys that will fill in for one of our attack if they are missing or just not playing well.

Since Mark Anderson said the final score for the TAMU-TTU game was 12-3 in Tech's favor and termed it unofficial.

I am now making it official as I got an email from Zach Kurzweil:

Texas Tech 12 Texas A&M 3

I don't know what game some of ya'll were watching, but I think A&M let up. Tech clearly showed they wanted that game more, especially between the boxes. That was the worst performance I have seen from a "talented" A&M team in years. If A&M did get the ball they had open shots but couldn't take advantage of it. As far as Tech goes, it seemed like they just camped out on A&M's crease all night long and took point blank shots on the cage. Overall, great performance for Tech. They clearly showed they are the team to beat. For A&M, they have better days ahead...to talented not to. I hope to see both of these teams continue to improve and represent the LSA well this year.
