Virginia Tech and UCLA are out. We're down to USC, Texas and Alabama with big games still left for all three undefeated teams.
USC vs. UCLA
Texas vs. Texas A&M
Texas vs. Big 12 North Champion
Alabama vs. Auburn
Alabama vs. SEC East Champion
BCS gets cleaned up a little
And then there were three...
Does Alabama have a legit gripe if they go through the SEC undefeated and are left out of the BCS Championship?

Ya know I was wondering the same thing CJ. Right now, no. But if Bama can beat a #6 LSU team, (perhaps) a sub 15 Auburn team, then beat UGA in the SEC championships (all convincingly) then I would say so. Bama's defense has carried them so far this year. Defense wins games, but Offense wins votes apparently. If Miami hadnt scheduled FSU for the first game of the year, they would surely have stomped the Noles in a midseason game and would surely be #2. I know everyone on ESPN says "Beamer Ball" no less tha 8,582 times per episode of sports center, but Miami's defense/special team are just ridiculous. We'll just have to wait and see. I would expect a Miami/Bama BCS (Sugar?) Bowl at this point.

I doupt that Bama gets through undefeated as well and even if they do I seriously doupt that they get past everyone convincingly. They looked absolutely aweful yesterday and needed the defense to score in order to jump start their offense.
If it is just USC and Texas left at the end of the year, will this end the BCS controversy or just subdue it for another year?

as much as it hurts to say, i don't think the texas vs. texas a&m game will be much of a contest. the only way texas doesn't head to the rose bowl at this point will be if the Big XII north team can put up a fight somehow.
i'd put my money on usc and texas. it sets up as a great national championship game.

Well hopefully not like the past 3 controversial Big 12 teams to make it to the national championship. Texas doesn't even have to win their conference and they'd still make it over Bama. Just like Oklahoma didnt against Kansas State (35-7) the year when USC got snuffed. Or the year Nebraska lost theirs (63-7) to Colorado. Which is indeed...special

I would put my money on A&M in a rivalry game over any team from the Big XII North. Colorado or Iowa State don't really strike fear into me.

Agree. Miss State is a incredibly horrible team and Bama shouldn't have struggled against them. I don't see Alabama beating LSU, Auburn, and Georgia.

USC and Texas both have potent offenses. USC is probably more diverse and potentially more damaging with the deep threat. Texas' defense is probably a little bit better. If Texas can get the running attack down (besides Young) they are going to be very very dangerous. Right now its a coin flip in my opinion but I'll toss my hat in for Texas.

Well, I'm not a USC fan, but I will say that a lot of people thought that USC was going to lose the championship game last season, and they didn't. USC is almost too confident though, not putting complete games together. USC wins it hands down, probably by 21 plus.

The score was 62-36. It was awful, but not that bad. At least the offense showed up to play in that game.

When you have an offensive line that can't block anybody, which causes your quarterback to be rushed and throw touchdowns to the other team, and a defense that can't stop anybody in the 1st or 4th quarters so that the team is playing from behind the entire game, what can you really expect? It'll be another 5-6 season in Lincoln, and that would make me sad, but if they win another game they'll be bowl eligible, and then they'd go and embarrass themselves in some crappy bowl game. I don't feel like watching them get embarrassed by K-State, Colorado, and some other school in a bowl game, so 5 wins is enough.
As for the BCS, I'd have to say USC would win it all. They haven't been beaten in 31 straight games, so until they lose, I'm not picking against them.
