MLB playoffs start today. Thoughts?

oh boy how i agree with that. the season goes from March to October...8 months. and they play every day. too much. its not an endurance game either.it especially hurts when the hometown team is out of it before the end of June.
peace.

Padres

Postby Dan Wishengrad on Mon Oct 10, 2005 1:55 pm

I don't think that the Padres choked at all, but just got beat by a better Cardinals team. SD was clearly the weakest playoff team in 2006, winning baseball's most anemic division. Losing Peavey to injury sure hurt the Pads' chances also.

Any of the Red Sox faithful who were so vocal one year ago want to chime in about the Bosox dreadful showing in this year's playoffs? Perhaps not re-signing Pedro wasn't the smartest choice the front office has ever made...

I would let Gregg Pathiakis and some other Red Sox faithful chime in, but I don't think not re-signing Pedro really made any difference because BoSox still won 95 games in the regular season. They just got beat by a better team in the White Sox.

They ran into the hottest team in baseball right now....what more can you say than that! No one wants to face the hot teams going into playoff time, regardless of their record.

Beckner, if you are talking about the White Sox when you say the Red Sox ran into the hottest team in baseball then you must be crazy. The White Sox had nearly the biggest collapse in baseball history, barely holding off the Indians. The White Sox became hot by beating the Red Sox. Also, the Cards-White Sox matchup would be pretty sweet. Cards Angels wouldn't be so bad either with all the storylines. Eck vs his old team, Molina brothers catching against each other.
