Got a point there Kyle, but in the long run it will be nice cause we don't have any other underclassman goalies, so it will be nice for them cause Nate is graduating after next season.

I know of at least 2 solid Eugene goalies that are looking at UofO next year. One a transfer and one a frosh.

Kyle.

Who is the recruit you lost to Santa Clara? I hope it is someone we don't know about yet.

Thanks for the head's up.

Sam Grant of Univeristy HS.

You were his top choice, but hee thought he wasn't going to make it in, and we thought we had him. When he came up to visit, it rained, which is great for all the California guys that visited. I guess we'll have to stick with our Portland guys for now.

All in all, he seemed like a great kid, and his head was on straight. Definately not a player that you'd have to worry about grades or any diciplinary problems with the school. His mother also seemed great, and I'm sure she'll be very fun to have at games.

On a side note, everyone on my team liked Sam quite a bit. They decided they now want to play him, so we may have to work something out. Have a good Gary!

Postby Basquelax on Sat Jun 11, 2005 2:29 pm

In the Idaho Statesman today it has the story of team Idaho, looks like Whitman is getting one of the team's star players.

Albertson

Postby Laxfan23 on Mon Jun 13, 2005 4:43 pm

Albertson is getting two transfers to compliment their goalie transfer last season. Their transfer roster this year will look like this:

Blake Gaudet, Goalie - Univeresity of Utah
Cody Hart, Attack - Notre Dame de Namur
Ryan Curvey, Attack - Whitworth (didn't play his freshman year).

The two attack are what Albertson needs, I think. The defense looked fine last year, they just couldn't put the ball in the cage. the NDNU attackman was one of the team's leading scorers, and the Whitworth guy was an all-star in the Idaho High School league his senior year. Maybe a turn around for ACI?

UW recruits

Postby neil on Tue Jun 21, 2005 1:16 pm

Thats a hefty recruiting class Dan- any notables or standouts in the group? Nice to see the NW attract a couple of SI kids as well- they have a great program down here- they seem to fuel Santa Barbara very well each year so maybe the Huskies can jump on that band wagon.

UW Recruiting Class

Postby BenchCaptain16 on Fri Jun 24, 2005 5:35 pm

As a former Washington HS Lacrosse player I thought I would say what I think about the UW recruits.

-Sandman - great attackman from MI, should be impact starter
-Cam Moore - Part of potent Garfield offense, should make impact aswell
- Tierny/Hutch - work great as a team, great on the run shooting, true middies

Those are the only player I can comment on, but I think UW has built an exciting young roster and should prove to be more competitive than ever.
---------------
Add former Mercer Island standouts Andrew Vincent and Paul Swanson to Oregons roster. Both played large rolls in the sucess of the MI program. Andrew Vincent (2nd team all-state 2003 Defense, 1st team 2004) and Swanson (2nd team all state goalie) should add some more power to the Oregon roster with Issaquah attackman Jon Matusiefsky also joining the green and yellow.

Should be another good year in the PNCLL

Dan-

I think your gonna like the kid your getting from Skyline in SLC. Owens is a solid face-off middie and he played a key role in his squad winning the state championship this year. Wish he was coming over to the east side of the state!

Also, you're getting an all state attackman from South Salem in Brad Saiki. He's a dominator, but too lazy to email the coach.

Anybody from Oregon here who can comment about Corey Janoff from West Linn HS? He's coming to SC this fall and from what we've heard, he's a legit middie. 2nd Team All-State as a junior and 1st Team All-State this year, played for the Team Oregon A team, plus I read in some article that he was "West Linn's overall best player." Just curious if anyone has seen him play or heard anything else good about him. Thanks.

Also getting a CATLAXer, Mike Rossi, a very athletic quick defenseman. Should be a good addition.

I am pretty sure the kid is legit. I graduated from West Linn (before Corey came in) and keep in some contact with some of the coaches there. They have said the kid can play.
