It used to be for developing teams and teams just entering the conference, so it'll probably take another year or two to get everyone on the same page.
Developing Teams? Okay. New Teams? Certainly. Smaller Schools in the SELC? I'll buy it.
But schools that can't make a commitment to the league? No Thank You!
Reading is fundamental "and the such"(whatever the hell that means), I said the exact same thing two posts ago. In addition, the B Division is still for new and developing teams to the league. So what are you talking about? My original post was to GTlaxcaptain21 who pondered the merits of sending USC to the B Division even though he didn't think it could be done. That was focus of my original comment. So again, what are you talking about?
I apologize if I have offended you in anyway, I am a 5th year senior and for my entire career teams were sent to the B league if they were unable to commit to a full A league schedule, or if they were not good enough to compete in the A league. For example, Georgia was sent down to the B league to help develop their program a few years ago, and now there back stronger than ever. I apologize I have not kept up with the status of the B league, as now I understand the teams are divided by the size of the school and if you have a Division 1-A football team. There are some very quality programs in the B league, and in no way did I mean any disrespect.
With that said it is my understanding that very few players even showed up to the clemson game, and after that made the desicion that their season was going down the toilet, leadership was bad, and players felt they had better things to do than to play in the games that they commited to as a team. This was a very selfish decision as not only USC is affected, but now my fellow seniors, my entire team, and all the standings to place the teams in the tourney are messed up. The SELC is trying to gain respect around the country as a legit league, but actions like this hinder that. Coaches, players, and league officers have invested alot of time into making what the SELC is today, so irresponsible actions like just throwing a season away should come with heavy penalties.
