I still could not believe the two goals by Turkey in the dying minutes, though you could see it coming by the way they were dominating the czechs almost the entire 2nd half.

I dont know how anyone could have picked those games yesterday...

Well if that means anything close to what I think it means, I would counter with I doubt it. Netherlands is already through and Romania is playing for their life. Gonna be a day to rest the starters and wouldn't be surprised if Romania got a win, though Netherlands do have some good back ups as well.

Of course they will but it is not like I am a Knicks fan rooting for them to lose to get a high lottery pick or anything. I still think they will win even with the starters on the bench.

And you don't like my Dutch? Gotta run and catch my flight to Boston. Go Celtics! (you have no idea how much that pains me as a Bullets fan)

No I like the Dutch, second favorite team in the tournament behind Spain. The Dutch are very entertaining to watch, I just don't want them to win it all

Depending on the runner-up coming out of Group D (Russia or Sweden), the Oranje will play the runner-up. Let's say the Dutch wins the quarterfinal match. They will have another rematch with the Italians only if they win the other quarterfinal match.

I didn't think I could be more excited for a soccer game after Turkey's amazing comeback the other day, but this game I think topped it.

I thought it was all over when Croatia scored, and apparently so did they. That goal that Turkey scored in the 121st minute may be the coolest most exciting goal I've ever seen. I screamed aloud in my house when they scored it and everyone had gone into another room cause they thought it was over it was hilarious.

Turkey is having a run reminiscent of Greece in '04, ironic. Wonder if they can give Germany a game with all their suspensions from red and yellow cards.

Question: why is Volkan and other yellow card suspensions still suspended for the 2nd game after?? That doesn't make sense to me, shouldn't they just miss one game and not the remainder of the tournament???

Volkan got a red card and the appeal is on Monday. You are thrown of the game for a red card and have to sit out the next.

I was not watching the game on TV, but I was following the late parts of ESPN Soccernet's GameCast.

When I saw that Croatia scored, the commentator said that Croatia won, so I decided to exit out that website to check out Euro2008 website and saw that Turkey scored. I quickly went back to ESPN to keep up with the live commentary and figured the game would go to the penalty kicks.

I got home and found out that Turkey made another amazing comeback win.

As for tomorrow's Netherlands and Russia, who do you think will win the match? Guus Hiddink joked that he wants to be the traitor in his homeland. I understand that both teams have attacking offenses.

I understand being thrown out and suspended the next, for red and two yellow cards. But the announcers were saying Volkan and others would STILL be suspended for the Germany game despite sitting out the Croatia game as well, I am very confused by this. Are they suspended until further notice?? How does this work?? It seems like a very punitive course of action.

Didn't hear the talent during the game. The article I read says that he got a two-game suspension:

Volkan will sit out the meeting with Croatia next Friday after UEFA's disciplinary committee handed him a two-game ban for shoving Jan Koller off the ball late on during his side's meeting with the Czech Republic.

Looks like UEFA decided based on the foul that a two-game suspension was warranted.
