MLL In STL

Gentlemen of the GRLC:

As you've read in the MLL Forum and, no doubt, other places online, the MLL will be coming to St. Louis on June 14th, 2008. It's Philadelphia vs. Chicago at the Anheuser-Busch Center in Fenton.

Tickets can be purchased at www.majorleaguelacrosse.com or at the gate for $15.00. Show your support for the MLL!! Our turn-out will have a great deal of bearing on the MLL's expansion choices in the future.

I'll be up in the press box with Bob Ramsey doing the TV broadcast for local cable and ESPN360.com. So, if you can't make it, tune in on TV or online.

For additional information, go to www.majorleaguelacrosse.com or www.abconference.com.

Troy, Do you need a body guard for the throngs of fans? I might be able to free up some space. You'll just have to pay me in Steak and Shake

I doubt we'll need a body guard for anyone. If I get the least bit nervous anywhere, I plan on rolling with Brian Spallina. That guy is one mean dude!

What we are in need of are lacrosse crazy fans that are in the mood for a great game. With AB hosting the deal, you have to know the BudLight will be moving.

I'm excited to see the "new look" Chicago offense. The draft they had was outstanding getting Tewaaraton Trophy winner Kevin Leveille, Steven Brooks, Brendan Cannon, and Terry Kimener. This will be a step up to past years. The big question will be stopping Philly's offense.

Hello all:
Received this in an email from stickheads earlier today. Figured it was worth passing along.
As many of you probably know, the MLL is coming to St. Louis this weekend for our first ever pro lacrosse game. The game is at Anheuser-Busch Soccer Park on Saturday, June 14th at 5pm. What you may not know is that we will be holding a clinic with the MLL players prior to the game. The clinic will be held from 2:30pm to 3:30pm and is open to all players 18 years old and younger. All you need to do is bring your helmets, gloves, and a stick to the field that afternoon. Please come out and enjoy this unique opportunity. The clinic is free with the purchase of a game ticket. You can find tickets online at www.majorleaguelacrosse.com/buytickets Don’t pass up this amazing opportunity to learn from the pros. We look forward to seeing you out there.

Thanks,
Mike

Well, did anyone actually go to the game? What were your thoughts?

AB could have put on a better face with a functioning scoreboard. They also could have used a little more help in the concession stands, long lines to get a cold beverage. Surprising, usually they do a great job hosting such events.

Troy looked good during the on-field pregame.

laxpower article claims 3,000 in attendance, most in the West grandstands. Don't know what the camera angles were, but hopefully not too many closeups of the empty East grandstands.

Obviously, an OT game is exciting. I took the neighborhood kid, who just recently bought his first stick. He enjoyed it.

I also thought AB could have put on a better face, I thought the scoreboard looked pretty poor, and the PA system was a little weak too. Greg Heinz did a pretty good job with what he had to work with! I did enjoy the on-field action though, except I wanted the Machine (as it seemed most fans did) to win!!

Oh and those t-shirt boys made me mad!! I kept trying to catch one but they'd throw them too high for a short guy to stand any chance!!!
