AJ, I made one edit to the spelling of Casey Ervin's name (It is Ervin, not Irvin).

This is off topic.... but made me think about it reading the Div1AA all-conference

Since Ole Miss is a new team and still several of the teams in the conference have not played them, but would like to hear opinions from all

Did the teams of the GRLC want Ole Miss to join the conference?

Or even cared....

Sometimes I feel that we crashed the party

Just trying to see if there is animosity towards the Rebels

John,

I am surprised in your lack of confidence. Iowa enjoyed going down to Arkansas for the weekend and especially the level of competition that you and your team brought to the field. We would want to encourage any new competition to join us and welcome them with open arms. As far as if you are in the right conference or not i think that is up to your team; bottom line is that everyone in the GRLC still has one thing in common and that is a love for lacrosse.

I wouldnt say lack of confidence....

I have all the confidence I need in the GRLC... I was talking about individual teams not the conference as a whole

And that game in Arkansas was close... and I am glad Iowa has no problem with the Rebels

I don't really think any teams really had a problem with us being in the league. Maybe Mo St. cause we took "their" spot in playoffs but i'd argue K. State took it. But congratulations to everyone who recieved the awards and all the teams for a good fun season.

MSU had no problem with you guys being in the league and know that you didn't take "their" playoff spot. Last season 4 teams from A make playoffs, this year it was the same thing and they weren't one of the top 4. It's just that simple. The statement I made was about 1-AA division as a whole in regards to playoffs. The playoff scores further backed my comments as well. I just think that now that we've seen what 1-AA can do against each other and what they do against A, maybe a different playoff scenario should be considered. Maybe just having them play their own playoffs, which based on what I saw this year would create some very exciting games? I dunno I haven't completely thought it thru yet.

I do second your congratulations to all the players recognized this season, and to those who weren't recongized but maybe should have (we all know there are a few every year). Keep up the hard work!

I do think the 1AA playoff could work. But for Ole Miss' defense (yes i'm biased) we did kill almost all the 1AA team (except Iowa, which was early in the season but still not excuses). I would almost say Ole Miss should get a chance at 1A next year but either way its cool.

I'm up for totally re-considering what the playoffs for the 2 sub divisions looks like. And no It has nothing to do with us not making the playoffs either.

It really centers around the question of what we consider I-AA, a sub division or an entirely different division. If they are part of div, then it would make sense to have the best (x) teams go to the divisional playoff (ie top 6 or top eight), or we could consider I-AA their own deal, let them have their own post season awards, and their own playoffs. A couple of scenarios...
1) Have GRLC playoffs the top 8 teams, I don't know the logistics behind this, but an 8 team bracket would be cool, this would eliminate the question of div I-A/AA.
2) let div I-AA have a 4 team playoff or 2 team playoff, crown a champion of I-AA, then send them as the bottom seed to playoffs.

For the record I don't like the idea of splitting the div I, I know a big reason is travel, but splitting it just seems to create problems

Div 1aa is part of div 1..... other teams schedule them for occ and so do they

the point of allowing them 2 spots in playoffs is to promote competitive play to reach a goal

several of yall have made statements that div 1aa was competitive with the teams in it....

For others yes, but for my team it was not. We had one close game in the begining of the season, then rest were blow outs

I think the playoff system is fine for next year.... 8 teams is too much and would be hard to logestically to play in one weekend

4 from div1a and 2 from div 1aa....

an example drich what happens if a div 1aa team has a phenomenal year and wins your div 1aa tournament what does he get? no AQ there needs to be an Apple at the end of a rope

They should join the A division then...that's a pretty good goal.
