2008 Lax World MCLA Division 1 Top 25 Poll (4/30/08) is out!
I had worries about SU coming into the season-I thought that both Zona and ASU would drop off due to new coaches (just seems to be a fact in the MCLA, that change brings adjustment)-but I did think that ASU would stick around in the 10-20 range. I was wrong as they proved to be contenders. Experience pays dividends in Dallas-but will one year be enough for these seniors to reap the benefits and get into the later rounds of the tourney?

It appears to me that the lack of basic spelling and grammatical knowledge on these boards transgresses geographical boundaries.
the east coast has gobbler...

OUCH...that hurts...I think ASU has proved that they can run with the likes of Michigan (loss by 3 early in the season) and BYU (1 goal loss in provo). I was VERY impressed with the way they looked on Sat v UCSB and would love to see them play Michigan again because I think they could win.
Should be a great tourni...

I was impressed with ASU as well. I was very critical of them last year because they relied on only three players on offense, and that was all the had. The biggest difference I saw this year was that their defense actually knows how to play and handle the ball. They are no longer an inexperienced team. They can hit you from all sorts of angles. I see them making the semi's if not farther. The teams that I can see being upset by a lower seed are UMD (haven't played a quality team in a long time) and SFU (not really tested this year - Oregon turned out to be bad and SSU is questionable from what I have seen).

Wow, those are some exciting first round match ups.
Being from Boston I am particularly excited about the UMD- BC match up. Could be a great game.
No matter who UMD plays will the 2 (3?) week layoff effect them?
Even if it does they came out slow in these two teams first meeting but came roaring back to win the game.
All in all going to be an exciting tournament.

It has to have some effect. I wonder if that "freak snow storm" that caused the cancellation of their conference tournament will make it difficult for them to practice. If so it will be even more tough for them come nationals.
Either way, its going to be a quite a jump from temps in the 40s to that 90 degree Dallas heat. How do other teams deal with the climate change?

today in Colorado it was around 75-80 i think. Tomorrow forcast calls for chills and snow... weather always seems to be the last thing on a players mind when a game rolls around

Is that some respect from RB for the Sun Devils??? I feel like I need to make a post about the Gaucho's now...but I don't feel that they are in the same condition that they have been in past years.
We will see what the Devils are able to do at the end of the WCLL's. They could gain some great momentum going into Nationals. And not to mention that the team has been to Nationals now...and are going to be all business rather than like a kid in a candy shop.

I challenge you to find a post by me where I have hated on ASU this season. I have only defended the Gauchos or predicted them to win over ASU, but never said anything bad about them. They do however, take heckling very poorly. Especially their goalie.

The goalie who couldn't handle the heckling was "Twinkie" from SB a few years back.
