Thats troubling to me..................In my opinion....... teams that have had found success have done so from consistant coaching and philosophy.

Hopefully they will find a new coach that will stick around, give them some stabilty and consistancy, and the Trojans need to give the guy time and a realistic chance to establish a footprint to build the program.

Arizona State has had 3 coaches in 3 years...its all about talent and drive...though they have had some great coaches in the past two...Coach of the Year last year in Adam Hopkins...

Very good point, would probably be really good for that program with AJ's knowledge. Just kind of tough gettin kids into the school, but you know they will have money for dues when they do get in :D

Talent and drive comes and goes with incoming freshmen and graduating seniors. If you can keep your coaching staff consistent, your recruiting classes will improve and players will begin to buy into a system. But yes, ASU has been lucky enough to have two very good coaches the past two seasons. And that has helped them a lot.

also has a little bit to do with the weather and good looking chicks. I don't know the westfall kids nor do i intend to knock them, but with increasingly harder entrances to UC schools, a lot of bay area kids are bolting to the likes of U of A, ASU, Oregon, Boulder, and other similar schools.

This is true, and has been the case for a few years now. I just talked to someone who got admitted into UCSB on appeal. This year they had over 43,000 applications. The average GPA for admission was 4.03.

I don't think that the program attracted the Westfall bros...just throwing it out there, but I was on the team with and without Tyler. And he didn't come to ASU to play lacrosse...maybe for the girls and fun in the sun. It's always nice to have Sun's out Gun's out practice...in January

I think ASU may be adding another one of the Westfalls next year with their talented younger brother, goalie Dylan. I don't think it's 100% yet but i'll give it more-likely-than-not odds.

You have your reasoning backwards... Guys like Laflam, Nelson, and the brothers didn't go to ASU because it had a successful program. The program is successful because guys like them went there. :D
