Couldn't agree more.

I agree. If Montana St. gets into the RMLC finals they are in a great position.

MSU

Montana State definitely moves up tomorrow and their resume is arguably better than SJU's and UNC's. Saying their resume is better than Emory's I think is a stretch. I think they are similar. Even though it is a loss, a close loss to UST links them to UST's OT loss to GVSU. Personally, I think you can link losses if they are OT or 1 goal, it shows competitiveness. Not to mention Emory's score vs Dayton compares to SJU's, but comparing scores is NOT a good way to rank teams. Emory is in. I think SJU, Mont State, FLC and even SCAD could be the 4th. SJU, MSU and FLC control thier own destiny. SCAD needs to find the nearest "man of cloth" and begin a week long seance, but there is a chance.

Weaker conferences? Wasnt the WCLL the class of D2 2 years ago? PCLL D2 maybe, but who knows? THEY PLAY NOONE!
The GRLC and the Lone Star show up every year, and they havent faired well @ the Dance. That was a biased statement with absolutely no factual evidence, NICE WORK.

The WCLL was solid until every decent team in it moved up the D1.

The GRLC did get a win last year with Harding's win over WWU. Augustana went 2 years ago, and although they lost early, I think they went 2-1 (if you want to include consolation).

I do however think these two conferences are having down years in all respects. It's unfortunate a top 10 team has to be left out to accommodate their AQs.

In regards to the GRLC, Harding has been to nationals every year since the start of nationals. Harding only lost in the first round 1 yr and by a margin of 3 goals to a team that ended up in the championship. Each other year Harding came in ranked low and beat a team ranked higher than them to make it into the second round. I believe they have won every one of the consolation games they played. I wouldn't call the GRLC a weak conference.

In regards to the LSA, I know Southwestern has had some rough showings in the past. They might surprise some skeptics this year. If they bring that mean streak they play with sometimes, they will be competitive at nationals this year.

How can you saw that montana state has a better resume than SJU? SJU has beaten the team Montana state lost to UVSC. Also, MSU has not beaten anyone in the top 15 where there seems to be a change in level of play.

Also SJU has lost to the #2 and #3 team in the nation. I find that hard to put against a team if thats how you see that they have a worse resume.

Here is my crack at the next poll:

1. Westminster
2. St. Thomas
3. Grand Valley State
4. Dayton
5. Elon
6. St. Johns
7. Emory
8. Western Oregon
9. SCAD
10. Fort Lewis
11. Montana St.
12. Puget Sound
13. Harding
14. Northern Colorado
15. Utah Valley State
16. Southwestern
17. Charlotte
18. Metro St.
19. Western Washington
20. Creighton
21. Colorado School of Mines
22. Davidson
23. California Santa Cruz
24. Central Washington
25. Coastal Carolina

I have only seen a handful of these teams play, but from what has happened around the nation this is my best bet.

Being a SELC guy, I'll just comment on these teams. I'm ok with Elon and Emory's placing. SCAD, i think, should be dropped down at least one spot. I dont think losing by 2 to the #7 team in the country is grounds for dropping Charlotte. Id keep them at 15. ANd i honestly dont see how Coastal can be ranked. Im ok with Davidson being in the poll, but they should be lower, 24 at the highest.

See from what I head SCAD only lost by 1 in OT, I could be wrong, but it would be hard for me to drop them because of that. I see them possibly losing votes and points, but not dropping.
The Charlotte drop has a little to do with the loss and a little to do with big wins by other schools. #17 Northern Colorado beats #7 Ft. Lewis; it makes it hard for me not to bump them up, so there is one spot fallen. Southwestern ends up beating a 4-2 Trinity team by 17, so there is another spot. I agree that a loss to a #6 team by 2 shouldn’t drop you, but when the teams behind you have big wins its hard not to.
For Coastal Carolina, just like Charlotte, they lose to a top 10 team, I believe the team that won their conference tourney. It’s hard for me to drop them too much because of that, I still believe they are a very good team.
And last Davidson. Well I have not gotten to see them play, but it’s hard to drop a team that’s idle. It’s especially hard when one of the teams in front of you loses to an unranked team. But that’s just my thought on it.
