I believe in the WCLL a graduate student is ineligible if he played at on an NCAA or NCLL team as an undergraduate. Can anyone confirm? I think it is kinda bizarre that each league can have their own eligibility requirements...you would think that is the MCLA's domain.

The graduate student eligibility rule in the WCLL for the 2008 season that applies to this discussion is;"
graduate students may play for only one year, if they are eligible under ‘a’ and ‘c’ above and earned their undergraduate degree at a non-NCAA school."
While you might think it is bizarre that the conferences can make their own rules regarding eligibility, that is the way it is, the conferences can be more restrictive but not less restrictive than the MCLA rules.

I have seen far more D1 undergrad transfers make big impacts on MCLA teams over the years than grad students - Steve Austin at BYU probably being the most notable so far.

didn't that mike dude play for UCLA or was that just in the fall? I know he was Architecture guy so I am sure it was hard for him to make it to a lot of stuff.

believe WCLL requires not only 12 credits in previous semester, but also a total of 24 total from previous 2 semesters with an adequate gpa of course. however, i am not sure if these same rules apply to graduates who have been out of school for a semester or more.

It seems like it is heading in the right direction. If the MCLA is pushing so hard to be known as virtual varsity and not as bush league club lacrosse then why aren't the NCAA rules followed to the T?

Because most teams, conferences and the MCLA Board do not have the resources necessary to provide the amount of oversight necessary to follow the rules exactly.
