Willamette: 3-6(out of the playoffs)
PLU: 2-7 (out of the playoffs)
L&C: 0-5 (out of the playoffs)
CofI: 0-8 (out of the playoffs)
Top 6 seeds go to the playoffs.
#1 WOU and #2 UPS get first round byes
#3 WWU and #4 CWU will host playoff games next weekend. #5 Whitman travels to Ellensburg and #6 SOU makes the long trip to Bellingham.
The Lewis & Clark games played by each team will NOT be considered for playoff consideration. Luckily, no one in the playoff race lost to L&C, so essentially their games with all teams were a wash.

congradulations to those who have made it in already and good luck to those still fighting to get in.
this is amazing to me that PLU is not in the playoffs for the first time in five years and something like the second time in almost ten years.
just goes to show anything can happen!!

If I am not mistaken, the final four will be held May 3-4 in Missoula. The previous round's games will be played the weekend before that April 26-27. Nationals will be held May 13-17 in Dallas, Tx. But I need someone else with more info to tell us about the times. When during the day will the games be played?

This is something that some of my players that have been around for a while were discussing as well. We can still remember when PLU smothered us our first season (2005 i believe) in round one of Playoffs. A lot has changed since then. Glad to see that the PNCLL is still as competitive as ever! Good luck to everyone who is still finishing their games to get in.

PLU has been a perennial playoff team since the olden days when I was still strapping on an old-school Cascade. I'm sure they'll be back and hungry for a playoff berth next year. As for my alma mater, I think Whitman will give WOU a good game and is still a couple strides ahead of Willamette (though the gap is closing), so barring an upset this weekend, I'm confident Whitman can secure a PNCLL playoff spot for the fifth consecutive season.
Good luck, fellas.

Just for some reference for all you youngsters, it wasn't long ago that Lewis and Clark was a powerhouse program that was a perennial playoff contender, even winning the league playoffs in 02 I believe?
It's a cyclical thing, and a fleeting experience. When everything stays the same, everything is boring....

actually L & C won in '03... but I have the trophy in my office so that's kinda cheating.
For anyone who cares, here's the history of champions:
'01- Oregon State
'02- Gonzaga
'03- L & C
'04- Puget Sound
'05-'07- Montana

According to an e-mail just received from Chris Shauger, Rafael Cuevas, and Erik Brown, Lewis & Clark has ..."regrettably forfeit (ed) the remainder of the 2008 PNCLL season..."

I seem to remember when we first joined the league and were beginning our program that teams like L&C, PLU, UPS, Linfield were all powerhouses as well. Some have these have continued to do this in recent years as well. This just goes to show how the PNCLL has been & is continuing to be one of the most competitive leagues in the MCLA.

I have looked around the forums trying to find definite times for the Final Four games in Missoula. Not sure if anything is set in stone yet, but perhaps we could post the dates and times up here so people would know what they might be dealing with. Could someone with this information spread the wealth (like Kevin???)

This is a question that the answer may be irrelevant for my team in short time, but I'll ask it anyway to prepare:
How is it decided if the first-round games are played on Saturdays or Sundays of that weekend?? Is there a formula or do teams get to say which day is better? I understand the 3 and 4 seeds host the games, just not sure if it is concrete that they must be on one day or the other.
Just curious..

Did OSU really win the B division championship in 2001? That was the first year PLU moved up to the A division, and I thought OSU was up that year also. . .senile dementia is setting in.
By the way, Lewis & Clark also won the B division title in 2000. . .I remember because they beat PLU in the finals that year. I missed the game for my future wife at the time. I guess it was worth it. It was also the last year we played our finals at PNLA.
I do still have fond memories of the Whitman vs. PLU semifinal game two nights earlier. What a classic game, and the true beginning of what became (in my opinion) the best rivalry in the PNCLL D2.
Good times. . .

It's been Saturdays for a while, mainly due to traveling home. Typically it's easier to have teams & officials travel home & have a day off before going to work... or maybe they even go to church... I'm sure it's open to discussion for the years to come, bring it up in new business at the AGM.
