Friday night's SELC Division 2 tournament games will be at Chattahoochee High School in Alpharetta:

Saturday (Semis) and Sunday (Championship) games will be held at Northview High School:
http://www.northviewhigh.com/our_school/driving_directions.php

(NOTE: Northview is about 3 miles away from Chattahoochee.)

For those of you traveling on Friday, please allow plenty of travel time to Atlanta. It can take an extra 60 - 90 minutes to get to this traffic congested part of North Atlanta once you get to city of Atlanta. PLAN ACCORDINGLY!

Is there an "official" hotel this year?

My predictions:
Charlotte vs TWC Charlotte
Coastal vs Elon Elon

Charlotte vs Emory way too close for me to predict
Elon vs SCAD SCAD

SCAD vs Charlotte/Emory Charlotte/Emory

Game of the D2 tournament will be Charlotte v Emory. Charlotte will be looking for revenge from last year's championship game. I wish I was still on the team just so I could watch this one live.

So from what I could tell...Charlotte's 3-2 divisional record was considered a "tie" against 3-1 TWC and Coastal Carolina?

read the boards on tie breakers. Sectional records have no bearing on seeds.

I did, it is clear how the first and last 3 seeds are split.

That's my confusion, since the divisions within the SELC2 are not even in terms of the number of teams. What has the bearing on seeds?

I would assume Goals Against for common opponents. KSU was the only common opponent for the 3, and TWC gave up 3 goals (giving them the 4 seed) while UNCC and Coastal gave up 7. B/W Coastal and UNCC their common opponent was PBA in which PBA gave up 5 goals and Coastal gave up 6.

Is that the correct logic for the 4-6 seeding?

(verified, it is)

Technically a Charlotte win would be the upset since Charlotte is the lower ranked team.

seeding aside, who has a better chance of reaching the second round, Coastal or TWC?

elon seed?

Postby charlottelacrosse on Mon Apr 14, 2008 8:10 pm

i honestly dont see how elon is not the #1 seed. they have 5 division wins. I kno goals against and everything, but a 5-0 record is still better than 4-0. i think it should have been tough luck for the teams with less intheir region.
