Faceoffs and LSMs

Postby DanimusPrime on Mon Apr 21, 2008 9:29 pm

There should be a category for faceoff guys/LSMs. Our guy, Pat McGrath has been winning at about 70% all year and Cawley is a dominant LSM as much as he is a good close defender. Almost all of McGrath's goals have come on spectacular coast to coast transition plays and he anchors our midfield D. Matt Lindsley is listed as Attack, but he is actually a midfielder, which clears a spot for Pousson.

There is a category for faceoff guys and another for LSMs - don't worry, it'll all get worked out in the end.

As for Lindsley.... he's really a middie? The couple Fort games that I saw he was playing attack. Maybe he switches. He's legit though. I tend to think that he's playing at half-speed when he's going for it - that kid's got a lot more in him than he shows.

Yeah, Lindsley and Pousson alternate rotate depending on matchups. not having him against Westminster really hurt us.

Also, Miller from Utah State is a great player at attack or mid. Whatever happened to Elliot from NAU this year? He was a first teamer last year and hasn't done much this season.

I do think Westminster's goalie is solid, but it is their defense that deserves the credit. Metro's guy gets my vote for first team, if I had one.

For your viewing pleasure:::

This year, the nomination rules are the same for DI and DII and are as follows:

Nominate 12 players:
1 G
3 D
1 LSM
3 M
1 FOGO
3 A

Then, nominate an additional 3 of any position if you so choose.

There is no requirement that a certain number must be from a different team.

Coaches may only nominate players from their conference. (1 or 2)

Players from Wyoming, Utah State, and UNM are not eligible for D1 all conference teams as they did not complete a D1 schedule.

Furthermore, once the nominations are in and sent back out, the voting proceedures are as follows:

Middie, Attack, Defense:
Rank from 1 to 10 with first place recieving 10 points, 2nd recieving 9, etc.
Most points wins.

Goalie, LSM, FOGO
Rank from 1 to 5 with first place recieving 10 points, 2nd recieving 8, etc.
Most points wins.

Enjoy. :D
