Watch out for NDSU
im going on a limb and state that NDSU will go 2-0 in michigan this weekend. They are much improved and will open a lot of eyes in F/M area and minnesota in general that lacrosse has blown up in some aspects in this region

Best of luck to Augsbug this weekend. Getting that first win in an OOC game would be awesome for that team and our conference. Let us know how the game goes regardless of the turn out. Get 'em!

I believe it is "Official"
the league schedule has both of their games against Ferris State and Northern Michigan on it.
As far as on the MCLA website i am not sure.
it would be ashame if the game was not "offical"
hate to do all that driving.

I don't know about you guys, but I am like a 5 year old at Christmas waiting to open Nintendo!! I can't wait for the season to start. Seems like we have been waiting sooo long.
Good luck to all the UMLL teams playing OOC games.
As far as D1 goes, I am excited to see how St. Cloud/Minnesota/Iowa State look. Too bad I can't come up to watch. Have fun guys, see all of you soon

My view might be slightly biased on the outlook for my own teams first game ever, but I am very optimistic that we will have a good showing tomorrow night. Because there is no indoor facilities to use at Augsburg besides the Dome, practice time has been hard to come by... a sentiment I am sure is shared by many a Minnesota team. Like most first year teams, we have a wide variety of experience and depth is questionable, but hard work and hustle.. there is plenty of that to go around. Hopefully, we'll bring a W back for the UMLL.
Good luck to all the teams playing this weekend.

Good luck! These games are always great tools for improving your team. A "W" is the goal but there is a ton of other things to be gained from this especially as a new team. Hard work and hustle are the keys to being and becoming a good team. If you have that you guys are already well on your way. Don't forget to have fun!

WARNING:
UMD had two cars broken into while at our practice at Augsburg on 1/19..Electronics were stolen. Both cars were parked in the parking lot next to the dome, and both were under a "light"
Possible common denominator: Both cars had boxes visible in the cars. And I left my Sirius satellite head unit visible - stupid me.
We have informed Augsburg (via Jon Harris) and I personally asked the Officer that responded to the report to see if he could convince the precinct to keep an eye on the area on Saturday nights. He was receptive and polite, but I doubt he has the ability to make such a "watch" happen.
Be smart folks.
Rob

FYI for St. Cloud and UofM coaches, players and any fans that will attending Saturdays game... The democratic party is attempting to schedule a rally at Augsburg that evening. Nothing has been finalized, but if it goes through, parking will be quite difficult. Keep that in mind when deciding when to arrive at the Dome. When I get the final word on if it is going to actually happen, I will post it.

I know that Rob wasnt trying to imply this, but Augsburg is generally a pretty safe place. Spent many night there when my brother was a student and never had a problem. Just be smart!
I did though have my stereo and window broke in a parking lot in Medina which was real awesome...........

I used to live literally across I94 from Augsburg (Cedars 94 apt. complex, just over the footbridge). One day in 1992, I heard what I thought were gunshots, so I called the police; turns out they were in the building, blowing my neighbor's door off and busting him for dealing crack. About a year later, I got a knock on my door at 3 a.m.; it was a cop, asking if I'd heard anything, because the guy across the hall got murdered by his roommate. As soon as I could get out of my lease, I moved to the suburbs.
I can't imagine the area has improved much since then!
