Birmingham, Alabama area high school lacrosse team all-stars seek national title

A select team of area lacrosse all-stars will play in the Dicks Sporting Goods Tournament of Championsbeginning Saturday in Wesley Chapel, Fla.

Bamalax, comprising 24 athletes selected from the Birmingham Youth Lacrosse League high school division, including players from Hoover, Spain Park, John Carroll, Mountain Brook and Homewood high schools, will compete in the high school club national championship.

"I'd like to win at least three games," said Bamalax coach Chris Cos. "We're probably going to play five games, and as long as the kids have fun and we can compete, I think it will be a great statement for us."
