Is there any set Rule in the LSA that requires a team to wear a certain color jersey for Home games ( IE A White Uniform) and a school color jersey for road games(Purple in TCU's Case)?
Or is it the other way around? Or is there even a rule on the books?

I believe the rule states that a team cannot wear any colors besides the official school colors or white
As far as home/away goes ... Not sure if there's a rule, but generally homes have been white. Don't know if there's an LSA rule but there's probably an MCLA rule about it.

We play by the NCAA Men's Lacrosse Rules in the MCLA, fellas, and the these state that "the home team shall wear white". I don't believe that this rule has changed in decades.

Historically in the LSA the home team wears white. If the home team would like to request wearing darks at home, a la Texas State, historically it has been accepted to contact the opposing team and ask if it is permissible. Normally the visiting coach is fine with it as long as you inform them with plenty of time (not calling them while on the road).
This does not mean that you should not have two jerseys, a dark and a white.
Just my two cents.

Home = White. Road = Dark. If you don't have one or the other, need to make sure that the opposing team knows about it well in advance.

I wonder why the NCAA rule has lacrosse teams wearing white at home, while football teams wear their colors at home. I always thought the colors looked great at home.
As a side note, UCLA/USC have both worn their colors for the final game of the season the last few years...kinda like the football teams did for years until the NCAA stepped in.

so...hypothetically if a team wanted to wear an alternate jersey at home (say a black or gray one or do like TSU with home colors), all we gotta do is talk to the other team and clear it?
I remember back in high school we had the home team could choose whatever we wanted for at home as long as we let the other team know, and if not we had to accommodate the other team by wearing the inverse.
I dont think there's a specific rule, just rule of thumb for home is light and away is dark

Tex Schramm did it for the Cowboys and the NFL because he got tired of seeing the same two colors at every home game. By having the home team wear white, the fans got to see the visiting teams in different colors each game.

Direct from the rulebook...
A.R. 20. The home team shall wear white or light-colored jerseys; however, this rule may be waived if both coaches agree to do so before the game. When jersey colors are not sufficiently contrasting, the home team shall change its jerseys.

We just got our new jersey's in that are a little bit of deeper red. couldn't get crimson exactly, but got as close as we could, and then still have the all-whites at home.
We're lookin at going all crimson helmets and gloves for the 2009 season
