USAFA, Colo. - A slate of seven home games, along with a pair of contests in nearby Denver, highlights the 2008 Air Force lacrosse schedule, released Thursday by head coach Fred Acee.

The 2008 season begins with a pair of exhibitions, as the Falcons host cross-town foe Colorado College on Feb. 2 while visiting Denver on Feb. 9. Air Force hosts Providence in its home opener on Feb. 26 before going on the road for its next four contests. The Falcons visit service-academy rival Army on March 1, before heading to the annual Pioneer Face-Off Classic, hosted by Denver, March 8-9. There, Air Force will take on a pair of Ivy League opponents in Penn and Brown. The road trip ends with a visit to Maryland on March 16.

The Falcons kick off the 2008 GWLL slate by hosting Notre Dame on March 22, then remain home for a contest with Presbyterian College on March 30. After a visit to another GWLL opponent, Ohio State, on April 6, Air Force puts together a four-game homestand, with Bellarmine (April 11), Quinnipiac (April 13), Yale (April 20) and Denver (April 26) coming to the Academy. The season ends at the inaugural GWLL Tournament, to be held May 2-4 in Birmingham, Mich.

Air Force will warm up for its strong spring schedule by taking part in a pair of fall charity tournaments. First, the Falcons will travel to the Christian Prince Memorial Tournament, hosted by Yale University on Oct. 14. There, the team will play games against LeMoyne and Dartmouth, with all proceeds going to a charity still to be named.

The next weekend, Air Force heads to the 10th-annual Price Modern Lacrosse for Leukemia Tournament, being held Oct. 20 at the St. Paul's School in Brooklandville, Md. The Falcons will take on Penn State and GWLL opponent Quinnipiac in the tournament. All proceeds for the event will go to The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society to help raise money to cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's Disease and myeloma. Additionally, each team will play in honor of a local youth ambassador who has survived or is currently undergoing treatment for a blood cancer.

I guess that means the CCLA won't be moving our tournament to that location this year, it was on our list of 3 prospects.
