MBU Names New Men's Lacrosse Coach

Missouri Baptist University Director of Athletics Thomas Smith has announced the hiring of Andrew Joly as the new Head Men's Lacrosse Coach. Coach Joly joins the staff at MBU after having coached at the high school level for the past four years. Coach Joly's most recent assignment was with DeSmet Jesuit High School, a close neighbor to the MBU campus.

"I am excited about the enthusiasm that Coach Joly brings to this position," said Mr. Smith. "I am confident that he can help build the MBU Men's Lacrosse Team into a competive program."

Prior to coaching, Coach Joly played collegiately at Wittenberg University and later with the University of Missouri Club Team. His collegiate playing experience and competitive nature will help Coach Joly transition into the role of collegiate Head Coach.

Athletes interested in participating as a part of the MBU Men's Lacrosse Team can contact the Lacrosse office at (314) 392-2279.

Missouri Baptist University's athletic teams compete in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics and the American Midwest Conference. MBU, a premier Christian University in Saint Louis, is committed to enriching the lives of the student athletes spiritually, academically and athletically and subscribes to the five NAIA character initiatives: Respect, Responsibility, Integrity, Servant Leadership, and Sportsmanship.

any chance we'll see these guys at our fall meeting since they, like Lindenwood, are NAIA and can't compete under that association?

I may have just missed this in one of the previous posts, but MoBap will be Club correct? Or No.

Right now they are independent, with the possibility that they will be joining our league next year (assuming I have my facts correct)

MBU is independent this year - It was important to me to get the team off and running with a full season of games, and I still had a lot of equipment to buy (helmets, uniforms, etc.). So my thought were staying independent simplified things for this first year.

As far as next year goes, we are tentatively planning on applying to the GRLC for admission into the conference.
