PNCLL '08 OOC

Postby woulax23 on Sun Jul 08, 2007 3:54 pm

Does anyone have any idea of what types of OOC trips they are taking next season? or any teams that are coming up to play in the Northwest. At WOU we are doing our California trip again for spring break and we will be play U.C. Irvine (WCLL Champs), Pepperdine (WCLL runner-up), and Biola University. we have tried to contact several teams to come play us, but have had limited success. Any B teams have some competition coming up that we can try to schedule?

Idaho will be heading to Nevada for 2 or 3 games. We're hoping to get a mix of WCLL A and B teams scheduled and actually have a decent OOC schedule for the Vandals this year. Once the relationships are developed we hope to keep moving in the right direction.

woulax23, you'll have a PNCLL fan watching you play Irvine/Biola. Have you tried contacting CSU-Fullerton for a game? They are in the vicinity of Biola. I have the contact for the team.

thanks for the support. We have not asked Cal Fullerton yet. As of right now we are set on that trip with the three teams I listed, however we have had some breakthroughs involving teams coming up to play us. Those are still in the works though. Good Job Vandals, I am glad to see your program taking the same steps that we are towards becoming better. What week will you guys be down there Ryan? It's really exciting to see the PNCLL grow. Hey Will, any plans for another Willamettte OOC Trip this spring?

Josh I literally was going to contact you in the next day or so about the teams you guys were playing because we are looking to try and get a SoCal trip in this year as well over our spring break too (imitation is the sincerest form of flattery?). So yes we are looking to do that and I'll send you an email to get the contacts for those teams.

In general I would like to say that I really am impressed with teams looking to play some high quality teams form OOC. Not all teams have hopped on the band wagon yet, but let me just say if at Willamette we can then no one has an excuse not to.

I really want to see us move to more conferences than just the WCLL and do things like PLU did last year where we establish relationships with other conferences so all teams can benefit from teams traveling to the Northwest to play us. We need to let these teams know that there are lots of teams up here hungry for fresh competition and teams like Montana and PLU and WOU and SOU are making us look good by beating some high quality opponents from other conferences. Keep up the good work guys and lets spread the NW Lacrosse empire's influence throughout the land!

face
Southern Oregon University
Western Oregon University
Pacific Luthern Universiy
Willamette

i might add it would be nice to do the whole socal ordeal being that we are coming from minnesota but it will be a great to get out of minnesota in the month of march! Also Mark Brown did a great job getting things worked out so we could even have a chance at going out there and playing

we really look forward to this spring!

OOC

Postby Mark Brown on Mon Aug 13, 2007 8:09 pm

As my new friend Corey has stated we have MSU-Moorhead coming to Ashland for their Spring break. They will be here for four games against us, PLU, WOU, and Willamette. I'd like to thank PLU, WOU, and Willamette for coming to Ashland to make this trip possible. I'd also like to especially thank Corey and everybody at MSU-Moorhead for making the long journey out west...we will make it worth your time.
We are also hosting Nevada (WCLL-A) in febuary.
I'm still waiting to hear back from some of the WCLL teams that we went to last year hoping they will come to Ashland also. If this happens, I'll let anyone interested know about it so any team coming can get two games in for the trip.
We've also been invited to the annual President's Day tourney at UC-Irvine. If that doesn't work out than we will definitely be making at least one trip to Cali for some OOC games.

I would recommend for any team to go to the Presidents Day Tourney. Great facilities, great location and the UCI rec staff and lax team are very very helpful!!
