Also, some news about Duke’s recruiting class. You remember Brophy Prep junior Hunter Rodgers, the Arizona recruit and No. 17 ranked ’06 Junior. He recently announced his verbal commitment to the Blue Devils after a visit in April convinced him about the program.
“I had a great visit, and coach Danowski and I really connected,” Rodgers said from his home in Arizona. “He’s such a good coach, and he’s been through a lot, the whole team. [Duke assistant coach] Kevin Cassese has also been wonderful with me while I made my decision.”
Depending on how his game improves and everything shakes out with players coming and going, Rodgers’s freshman goal is to earn time in the attack line rotation.
Rodgers led his new team Brophy Prep to a 12-2 victory over his old team Chaparral for Brophy’s first ever Arizona Youth Lacrosse League title. On the season he scored 63 goals and 12 assists. This summer’s lacrosse events include a trip to the Vail Shootout in Colorado.
