I was just wondering why there was only one all-america from the LSA, and a 2nd team middie at that...

So I guess it's some function of voters in conference, teams attending tournament, and number of teams in top 25 (which I didn't include).
Interesting though, conferences with 5 voters yielded 2-3 teams attending nationals, more than 5 sent 4, and less than four voters all sent 1 team ... food for thought.
Either way, it seems that; conference strength + exposure + poll & tourney appearances = increased all-american #'s ... maybe...
Not to get all brainiac-like on you though ...

I remember Karl posting that all 6 of the nominated players would be at least honorable mention. The reason for six players being that we have one team ranked in the top 25 (two teams would have warranted 9 selections). Did the format for selecting players change this year as apposed to how it's been in the past? If it is still the same process then what happened to the other 5 AA spots that should have gone to LSA players?

Maybe Karl could chime in on that one; I'm not really sure what the whole process entails. Either way it seems the LSA was a little short-changed.

Just to be clear - poll voters don't vote on the All-America awards.

RMLC had three teams in the tourney - BYU, CSU and CU.

I'm aware. The point of the statistic was an attempt to draw a possible connection between #voters influencing #teams in the tournament, which influences #All-American recognitions.
It was just a thought.

Apparently, I missed something, because a change was made that you don't get AA HM unless you appear on two ballots.
