The first release from WALAX.com on where Washington high school Seniors will be playing lacrosse next season as Freshmen has been posted. The PNCLL teams on the list are getting these guys:
Oregon State
Danny Hoffman, M, Garfield
Washington
Steven Frankel, A, Mercer Island
Scott Gilson, M, Tacoma
Ashkaan Jaberi, D, Bellevue
Keenan Lee-Peters, M, Stadium
Tanner Means, M, Vashon
Nick Ritchey, M, Seattle Prep
Tim Wettack, D, Mercer Island
Washington State
Zach Christiansen, M, Eastside
Tony Chung, M, Puyallup
Alex Garabedian, A, Vashon
Clayton Knight, M, Bainbridge
Matt Zapel, A, Vashon
The Beavers are getting a great player and great kid in Hoffman, while the Huskies' haul includes some good offense in Frankel and Gilson and some excellent defenders in Wettack and Jaberi. I don't know much about the Wazzou players, but getting the Vashon Attackmen should definitely help the Cougs, as will Clay Knight from BI.
Notables from the state off to play varsity lacrosse include M.I.'s AJ Ellis (Villanova); BI's Dylan Masi (Lehigh) and Bryan Gilbreath (Air Force); Prep's Shane O'Neill (Cornell) and Garfield's Drew Snider (Maryland), a two-time A.A. in '05 and '06 who played a 5th year of post-grad back east in '07.
