All Star Game

All Star Game

Postby Dylan Dickey on Mon Apr 30, 2007 10:40 pm

Ben MacLean of MSU, Mankato will be organizing the All-Star game as far as the players' side of things are concerned.

Some details can be found here http://www.mn-lacrosse.com/events_laxtravaganza.html . I am not sure of this site's accuracy as it states the games are being held at A.H.A. and I have heard it's going down at the NSC in Blaine.

Anyway, if you made the All Conference list, whether the 1st, 2nd, or honorable mention team, you are invited to participate in this year's All-Star game. This applies to both Division A and B.

Coaches and team admin. can be very helpful in this by informing their players and providing contact information.

Please feel free to contact Ben -

Have fun!
Dylan

As a side note - I heard the league will be helping out with reverseables this year!!

The game is being played before the high school CLUB championship at Blaine this year. I am not sure of the date but I believe it is the first weekend in June??? Not entirely sure but if you are invited I suggest you go so we can show high school kids what kind of talent is in the UMLL.

As far as the mn-lacrosse site goes, most info on there is about 2 years old and I dont believe anyone updates it aside from posting the summer league schedule.

It would be a great asset if someone had some time to actually keep that site up!

im with Rave, the last 2 years we've barely had enough guys to play a game let alone a competitive showcase game like it should be.

Marquette is having a team meeting tonight. I will mention to anyone that makes the All-Star game they are "strongly encouraged" to compete in this. It should be a great time. I only wish I could be there to watch.

If any of the head coaches or team admin could PM me players contact info (Phone #, email, etc) after the All Conference team is announced, that would be a great help to my efforts of organizing the All Star game. I would like to see as many of the league all stars actually show up to this one and put on a good show for all the youngsters and fans that will be there.

Any way some coaches could get in on this action if you guys are short staffed? I'm known to take a shot or two (generally well off target).

Catch, Turn, and Fire my friend...and don't forget to throw the ice pick check after the other team picks the ball back up
