Matt Garibaldi is going PRO
Matt Garibaldi (Auburn '03) just tried out and made the MLL's Chicago Machine. Chris Bluse (Colorado '03) also made the team.

So does that mean he won't be at the SELC Alumni Tourny this summer? Boooo. He was fun to defend. It was quite the adrenaline rush when he got the ball and pulled me out to the midfield line.

Hopefully he'll make the roster and won't be there. Better for him as he'd be playing pro, better for all of us playing defense at the tourney who are out of shape.
They've still got a tough road ahead though - they made training camp, which is 35 guys. Only 23 of those plus 3 practice players are selected for the actual roster at the start of the season, so it's going to be tough, but if more USLIA/MDIA/MCLA guys are going to go pro, these two are around the top of pretty much any list you could make up.
Bluse was playing lights-out when my team matched up against him this past weekend - he stuffed me once or twice on the doorstep, which in all reality isn't that hard to do, but he definitely was a brick wall in there all weekend.
They split us up into 5 teams and we played 4 games Saturday and 4 games Sunday. Garibaldi was on my team and was definitely running the field and having his way with most of the defenders.

Never saw Bluse play, but Garibaldi was just plain fast. Congrats and best of luck to both!

garibaldi was dirty fast. didn't have th fastest shot.. but could put it wherever he wanted... an excellent addition to the MLL... hopefully he will join the team full time after spring training.
