The Pioneer Collegiate Lacrosse League regretfully announces the immediate expulsion from the league of UMASS-Lowell (UML).

UML incurred multiple infractions against the by-laws of the PCLL and it was deemed by all teams that the league and its members needed to be protected against further loss and financial implications.

Under Article VII, Section 3 of the PCLL by-laws: Any Member of the Conference not complying with all the regulations set forth by the Bylaws and the Conference may, upon majority vote of the Executive Board be placed on Administrative or Disciplinary Probation; or upon recommendation of the Executive Board and by a two-thirds vote of the Full Members of the Conference, be expelled from the PCLL.

In a vote that took place last week, all 15 other member teams as well as all 5 EB members voted to expel UML.

UML and other member teams were encouraged to try and play out scheduled games; however those games will not count towards any PCLL league standings. UML is also encouraged to schedule games with PCLL teams in 2007/08 as a proving ground that they are a serious and organized organization. If they do so, they will be considered for the PCLL no earlier than 2008/09.

Sincerely,

Tim Gray
PCLL Commissioner
