I know the boosters at Harrison are hoping for another good crowd. There should be plenty of youth and H.S. players in attendance. Keep your fingers crossed for good weather.

The game (I believe) 2 years ago was at Harrison and the crowd was enormous.

Yep. Hopefully, it won't be too hot on the artificial turf.

"southeastern lacrosse at its finest"?! you're kidding right?! unless virginia, north carolina, and south carolina are no longer part of the southeast you'd be better off at a limestone vs. saint andrew's game... better yet a virginia vs. north carolina game. with all due respect we are club teams, gimme a break... both georgia and ga tech are talented SELC teams but come on...
nice

easy there mad hatter.... ever heard of marketing?
This same group put more than 2000 people in the seats 2 years ago.
We are creating an event. This is the only college lacrosse in Atlanta so why not try and build a buzz about it?
Besides, it's not all about our game but the whole day of events.
I can only speak for our team but we are very involved in the Atlanta market trying to grow the sport and we are simply trying to build a brand following.
I am pretty sure Limestone would love to be in front of such a crowd.

This weekend's UNC/UVa game in C-Ville drew 2566 fans and they were running a special promotion to try and break the attendance record at Klockner Stadium.

Now the Charlottesville crowd was surely limited due to the chilly weather this past Easter weekend- but the fact remains that some top MCLA games (Michigan/Michigan State, CSU/Colorado, etc.) draw more then many top varsity teams, both in fannies in the seats and paid attendance. And it's only getting better as the exposure of "club teams" rises in traditional H.S. lacrosse communities.
Long live "fine" Southeastern Lacrosse.

ken and sonny: i realize that you both have a lot invested in the club level of lacrosse. however, i was not talking about the marketing of this game. i was talking about the quality of play. in terms of marketing i agree that the MCLA is making huge leaps and bounds. my point was that if this game is considered the finest LACROSSE in the southeast, the title is misleading. i understood that to mean that these two teams would be examples of THE finest lacrosse play in the southeast. i dont care about the amount of people that show up to games. i was making the point that if you wanted to see the finest lacrosse programs in the southeast there were other places to go. if you want to argue that a club team could hang with the level of play from a UVA,UNC, or Limestone (excluding the worst teams in DII or DIII) go right ahead... if the flyer said in finest lacrosse in georgia or that georgia has to offer, you'd have no arguement from me. i hope that you guys have a great turn out and have beautiful weather! push the club sport as far as it will go. i was just stating that the "finest lacrosse" was a tad bit misleading.

madhatter i will give you five thousand dollars if you can find anyone else on here that read that and thought it was intended to mean that GT and UGA are superior to UNC and UVA.

madhatter you gotta realize you are posting in the SELC board group. Seriously man, come on. Also, I think with a simple college education, you might realize what Coach ken is saying is correct. It's a marketing scheme, which, frankly, according to Sonny is drawing mass crowds bigger than that of some varsity level games (I'm sure a college degree from any of the schools mentioned would help you realize that!) Remember that UGA GT is a rivalry that dates back forever, both in football and basketball, and now with lacrosse exploding here in the south, this is just adding to the greatness that both schools share and experience. I'll tell you what, go watch the game Saturday and tell me that there are not some quality kids who are busting their balls for a win. Saturday is gonna be huge, and i bet every kid on each team is gonna leave it all out for the love of the sport and the love of the rivalry. Go out and see the game for yourself. If not, just get out of this forum and quit your whining

I wonder what he would say about lacrosse being "the fastest game on two feet."

its fine that its a marketing scheme, all i am saying is just watch the how you word the flyers when getting the game out there. and i have seen georgia and georgia tech play- georgia attack #11 transfer from washington college, that kid is sick. but speaking of UGA football, one word- Vandy. ouch, i bet that still stings. probably still upsets some UT fans too...
good luck to both teams again, i hope all goes well and that you have record numbers. support the growth. and lacrosse is the fastest game on two feet! i'm not gonna post about this any more... i am just saying in the future be careful how you market the the game and the words that are chosen.
