Only 26 days until the SELC Tournament starts at Northview High School in Duluth!

1. Saturday, April 21st is Lacrosse Day in the state of Georgia - as proclaimed by Georgia governor Sonny Perdue. He has been invited to the tournament.

2. The SELC tournament Flyer will be featured on the back page of this week's SCORE Magazine:
http://www.scoreatl.com/

Score is a free weekly sports newspaper distributed widely all over the Atlanta area at 1300 different locations.

3. 790 The Zone (Atlanta Sports Talk Radio) will donate air time for commercials hyping the event once again. The commercials should be on the air shortly. (I hope to get a copy of the audio commercial to share with all of you.)

4. Several road side large (4'x 8') color banners will be up next weekend in the Duluth/Johns Creek area to further publicize the event.

TO SELC PLAYERS -- Hopefully, you can can all encourage all your parents and friends to attend this year's event. This is the 20th anniversary of the SELC Championships and 2007 should be the best event yet.

TO SELC PARENTS -- Consider purchasing an advertisement in the tournament program to show your support for the favorite lacrosse player in your life. INFO here:
http://www.selc.org/index.php?section=news&story=9

If you cannot attend, we hope to do live (internet) radio broadcasts of the SELC Semifinals and finals - live on CollegeLAX! So check back soon for our coverage plans.

what is the setup for this years tournament as far as teams that get in. Is it the same as last year, top team from each division and then next best three as wildcards?

Is there going to be any voting for like "Team of the first 20 Years," given to the best team of the first twenty years of conference? A "Team of the first Two Decades" consisting of individuals, a la the All-Century (note: not All-Centurian) from baseball a few years back.

My nominations for team:

1993 & 1994 Tennessee Volunteers

1999 & 2000 Tennessee Volunteers

My nominations for players:

Derek Nicely- Midfield
Tennessee 1992-'96

Joe Weatherly-Goalie
Tennessee 1997-'00

Jason Lewin-Attack
Tennessee

Buzz is getting bigger and better...

1. Tuesday, April 3 Georgia Govenor Sonny Perdue will pose with an SELC rep and Northview High School (NHS) rep for a photo op at the Georgia State Capital in downtown Atlanta. As you are aware, April 21st has already been declared by Govenor Perdue as " Georgia Lacrosse Day."

The hot rumor on the street is that the SELC Rep is none other then SELC V-P Ken Lovic. Try not to embarrass us too bad Ken with my brother the governor! :)

2. The SELC web site will have a one minute promo video clip posted on the site very soon including footage from last year's tournament and this year's regular season. This promotional DVD is being circulated to the media next week including GA Governor Sonny Perdue at the photo op listed above.

3. Friday night's Division B quarter final games will be played at Chattahoochee High School which has the same turf as Northview High School. CHS is only two miles from NHS. All other tourney games will be played at NHS. Go to the SELC web site to view the game schedule:
http://www.selc.org/

4. Your chance to buy an advertisement in the tournament program is fading fast. Details here:

He may not want to get to close to me anyway... I was in the racquetball court with him 3 years ago when he got cracked in the face by a co-worker of mine when we used to play racquetball with him in the mornings at ol' GSU.
