This is a very important trip for Boston College. After a down year, they can re-establish themselves as a MCLA elite program with three solid wins, especially against the ranked UCSB. A sweep similar to NE's would place them into the rankings, and give the PCLL two teams up there, only helping up the ante when the programs play one another later this year.
I don't know much about URI, but I am really pulling for them on this trip. They used to be one of our best, and I would like to see them up there again.

Texas Tech 15
Rhode Island 11
Tech dominated a physical first half, especially on transition and unsettled situations. The second half was more settled and the Rams played the Raiders about even or slightly better. I was impressed with both teams.

The score was a relatively close 7-4 at the half. URI played well against a very good Simon Fraser squad, battling hard even with the game out of hand. SFU used a 5-0 third quarter to put this one away with astounding dodges, bullet pass and lightning-quick shots, but URI showed heart and some sequences of very good lacrosse themselves tonight. SFU has been ringing 20 goals up on most everybody not named Oregon, and the Dempsey Field (small) is conducive to high-scoring affairs. But the Rams made the Clansmen earn most of their goals and contested every ground ball all evening. Both keepers for URI played well. My team will have our hands full with the Rams tomorrow night.
