USC @ Chapman

Chapman 13
USC 2

Chapman looked really good out there. 10-1 at the half. USC looked bad. #99 on Chapman, freshman from Lake Oswego, OR, looked good.

I've already said it, and I'll say it again. After watching Chapman in multiple games last year, especially with their young players...

I think Chapman is going to be flat out nasty this year. A solid freshman recruit certainly won't hurt them- a triple threat attack? Potent.

I'm excited for them, and I think they're going to be gunning for a WCLL title this year. I'm calling it now- major contender.

It was great to see lacrosse season opening up again. UCSB & Cal locked up for a sloppy but entertaining affair played before a pretty good crowd, many of them recent UCSB LAX alumni. Both teams showed early season jitters tonight and both teams struggled with ground balls and bounce shots on that carpeted cement they call a field at Cal. It was a close game with Cal seizing the lead at the beginning and UCSB regaining their composure and pulling out a win by a count of 6-5 by only allowing 1 goal in the second half until the Bears put in a late goal just before the end of the game. UCSB was dealing with missing some key players and shifting others into unfamiliar positions. Cal looks like an improved club and should have better results than they showed last year. They are a little deeper and have some very big middies that can be tough to defend.

Well I guess I certainly underestimated LMU's ability to show up for this game. They certainly showed a lot of improvement over the course of last season- it looks like it certainly carried over into this one. Tip o' the cap to the Lions.

Claremont - 17
Biola - 2

Let's just say Biola has some things we need to iron out.

Heard that UCLA lost to Stanford by one. Either 8-7 or 7-6.

Uh, doesn't Arizona usually play ASU the last game of the year? It certainly was not on the schedule.
