I hope this is an interesting few games. St. John Fisher looks like they are pretty young team but will be some "ballers" for sure.

This will also be interesting because of the possible historical implications for Texas lacrosse. I believe this is the first NCAA team to play Texas programs, in Texas, if I'm not mistaken.

Someone feel free to chime in if that is not correct.

At least I will not be playing for St. John Fisher since there is a player with the same surname as I, his name is P.J. Burns, no relation to me, who plays longpole. I believe he is a junior.

As for any NCAA team playing Texas teams, I have no foggiest idea. :)

Amherst (Div 3) came down here to play Texas in 2000. Amherst won 20-2.

Also, I believe that St. John Fisher is Division 3, not 2.

Even after rain this morning the game is on. Latest field conditions from College Station are that the game field is in good shape and will be playable for a 6:00 p.m. face.

That is correct Tim, they are D3 and compete in the Empire 8 along with powerhouses #2 Naz, #7 RIT and #13 Ithaca. They have a history of finishing in the middle of the pack in their league, but last year they went 2-12 and didn't win a single conference game.

They are lead on the attack by Donne and Hargather both Jrs (i think) who have a knack for hitting the net.

Donne (23g, 17 a - 2004) 75 shots
Hargather (25g, 0a - 2004) 74 shots

Middies are where A&M might best match up with them. Their FOG is decent but only wins about half his face-offs from what I undestand.

their Defense boasts their only conference award winner in Burns but they might not be expecting A&M's run and gun style.

Should be a good match up in CS tonight but too bad its been raining all morning.

I haven't seen much of the "run & gun" style lately...let's hope they bring it out of the closet for this game and more importantly, the remainder of the season.

13 - 5 SJF over A&M

Was A&M just totally outmatched talent wise or did they just play poorly and not execute? Just curious. I have not seen a lot of D II teams play. I'm a little worried about the Aggies as they prepare for a big road trip. Good luck guys. Hopefully the LSA can get some OOC wins.

To other guys, thanks for pointing out my error as I did that last night around 8:51 pm CST. I can not use my time in this forum late that night as an excuse. Yes, SJF is a DIII team.

At least, it was a lacrosse game tonight because SJF has an undefeated basketball team with a 27-0 record right now.

A little of both-A&M missed a lot of opportunities and Fisher had more talent. Fisher didn't look that good to start off, but they started cruising in the 2nd half, that could also be because, the young Ags seemed to lose hart when fisher scored a couple of backbreakers in the third. A&M had a lot of chances that they did not convert. It's hard to use this as a barometer for MDIA vs. DIII argument. Fisher is an okay team in a super conference. a&M is having a down year. Fisher has hardly stepped on a field yet this spring. A&M has been playing games for over a month. I think Fisher will beat Texas pretty well as they really seemed to be shaking off some rust throughout the game, they seemed to be happy to be outside and playing for real.

I hope the LSA can represent but it looks like it could get ugly with a young A&M team, my guess it 18-4 while the Texas game might be a little closer catching them on Day 2 but not much.
