it doesn't seem like a lot of people have much to say about division b and all the focus is on division a.....anyone have any thoughts? predictions? sleeper teams? surprise players?

I thought San Jose looked pretty organized at St Mary's this past weekend. I saw the game against Dominican and they controlled the ball well. For a 1st year B team they look as though they will get a few wins and maybe an upset. I don't know their full schedule or I'd elaborate further.

interesting...i know nothing about that team so i can't comment but the first year is always a fun one..anyone have any thoughts as to who will win the division? pepperdine is preseason numero uno with biola two and oxy 3rd but i did hear that biola swept a little scrimmage session with oxy, pepp and one other team.

Biola has made huge gains and should be the preseason favorite. Oxy beat pepperdine and I wont elaborate too much.

Basically the division is very much open this year, with Biola, Pepperdine, UCI and Oxy all very much able to compete for the title. Who knows who will end up at nationals.

^^^ Ive never really seen any of the top contenders in division b play in the last few years so I honestly couldnt tell you. But if St. Johns beat last year's San Diego team they have to be a solid squad. I definitely don't think the WCLL has the title locked up like I thought last year with USD and Claremont both fielding awesome squads.

I think the WCLL this year will probably be at the championship game for Div B as spectators. I think they have some quality teams, and in the future I would look at schools like Irvine as being strong contenders in the B division and eventually (several years maybe) moving up to division A (based mostly on school size).

My favorite for winning the B Division in the WCLL would probably have to be Irvine, but there are certainly some other teams that could offer quite a bit of a fight- I guess that's why they play the rest of the season.

I agree that UC Irvine is the favorite to win the WCLL Division B championship. However, I do not believe that they or any other WCLL B teams are up to the caliber of play that we saw last year with USD and Claremont.
As we saw last year, the top MCLA B teams are comparable with the 15-25 spots on the MCLA A Poll. That just is not the case with the WCLL this year.
