LUBBOCK, TX

Big Timers vs. Old Timers

Texas Tech Lacrosse will face its first challenge of the 2006 Fall season on Saturday, October 7th at 1PM. The Red Raiders will face the very talented Texas Tech Alumni; a group which may prove to be the most talented Alumni group ever.

Former midfielder Mark Grantham warns the youthful Red Raiders, " don't mistake age for talent, be respectful of your elders." The playful trash talk has been traveling back and fourth between actives and alumni since the beginning of the Fall season.

While the Alumni game is one of the lacrosse team's showcase home events every year, Head Coach Andrew Widmer realizes that, " the alumni game, while an entertaining event, is our first means of gauging our freshman class and restructured team. Of course, I will be playing on the side of the alumni, and we have every intention of winning this game, but my main focus will be on the performance of our active players."

The game will take place at the Texas Tech Rugby Field at 18th St. and Boston. Admission is free and the organization will be selling a limited production Alumni weekend t-shirt for $15, as well as various other team merchandise. For questions about the event, please contact a team officer.

Save the hostilities for the field tomorrow, Landon. We have enough playful badgering with our own alumni.
