Hmmm... quiet on the LSA front.
What do you think of the LSA pre-season poll (Div. A and Div. B)?

true. What I like to see, however, is that some teams have bridged the gap between A&M/UT and the rest of the LSA....such as Tech, Tx State, SMU, North Texas, etc. Hopefully some others will catch up very soon.

Tech beat A&M in both regular season play and in the playoffs. I'm confused as to why it's a tie.
If any argument could be made for a tie, not saying I'm making it, would be to have Tech and Texas tied, with Tech beating Texas in season play but Texas beating Tech in the LSA championship.

You can't just take into account where everyone finished last year. You also have to think about who graduated, and who might be able to step up and take their place. Benji I know you know that Tech lost an all america goalie which and the voters have to take things like that into account and also its a bit of guessing to see if those voids will be filled. A&M is usually at the top because regardless of who graduates Tony has had someone in the wings to fill in that spot. And even these last couple of years when A&M hasn't won the conference they still have made it to playoffs. Just something to think about rather than how things finished last year. If we did it based on last year then why would we have a preseason poll?

Well put Mark! There is a lot to take into consideration when it comes to a preseason poll. Personally, I don't take too much stock in pre-season polls. It's just good to look back on later on, for me anyway (even though they can be used as a motivational tool). Benji, instead of questiioning Tech's standing in the polls....why not just use it to your advantage. If your team isn't happy with their "rank", use it as fuel to get them even more fired up. Just some friendly advice. One thing I have learned over time is to do my best to spin even the worst situation into something I can use to motivate me further.

Haha, I figured you would be on to say something along those lines Karl. It's a little early for bulletin board material don't you think? LOL

As the moderator in my first year, I'll rely on coaches input somewhat (along with Sonny's supervision) to help me determine the degree of "friendly banter" allowed in the forum, but in general I'm not one to put up with a lot of bulletin board material.
