Is NMU the only school petitioning to get into the CCLA this year? And if so what are their chances of getting in. From what I hear they have a pretty strong team going into the fall.

As a coach/voting member of the CCLA I'd say that there is no way we can predict their chances of getting into the CCLA. If they bring a very strong presentation, then they will have a better chance. If they bring a poor presentation, then they will have little to no chance.

I have not heard anything about who is trying to join.

I'd recommend to any team that is trying to join that they make a very good presentation.

One good presentation at a conference meeting shouldn't be the sole reason to grant any team admission into a MCLA conference. :)

Very true, but one bad one can be a sole reason to NOT grant them admission.

Is it plausible that Northern's geographical locale and the CCLA's lack of interest to expand going to leave even the strongest of presentations "dead on arrival?"

If the scenario you are describing was the case, the league wouldn't even be allowing teams to apply. Each team is provided with the same opportunities. Outside circumstances do affect and effect how voting members will apply.

Just rumors

From what I have heard, Depauw Univiersty in Greencastle, IN is starting a team and Indiana State in Terre Haute, IN. They probably won't be allowed in this year, but if they get their act together for the following year, B-Division can attempt to grow with two new teams. Just my two cents.

FYI: Northern Michigan was accepted to CCLA B.

Congratulations, NMU!!

When you move up to "A", I'll be happy to try and make a trip to the Superior (urghhhhh - Yooper) Dome!

Best of luck to you all. It was a long road traveled to get it done.

Couldn't happen this year, due to the league meeting being completed.

Please don't forget about my guys at Saginaw Valley State University. We had a good Fall. Ask UofM Dearborn. We are looking to prove we belong, so if anyone wants to come visit our facilities or can host us this spring, please let me know.

it would be intersting to see a lacrosse rival match up between GVSU vs SVSU form down the road like there is in football.

In my opinion they are more well organized than I expected (on and off the field). Very nice field, and the level of competition was also good. This team should find a home in a league soon. We'll play them again for sure.
