He is from California. Why did he spend two years at Fort Collins before transferring to CSU?

Tyler Bue played at Fort-Lewis in Durango for at least one season, but probably two. That's what he has been doing for the past couple of years. He just transfered this year to CSU to play for Flip after he made the USA West Team last season.

Oh okay that makes sense.

Overall is CSU active in recruiting or do they just let the program speak for itself?

I'm assuming they just let their program speak for itself. But I'm sure a Ram could provide you with more info than I could. I'm only guessing about their recruiting program.

Tyler was my roommate on USA West this past summer so we talked about his desire to transfer pretty extensively. I think he wanted to play at a more competitive level and have a chance or two at a Div A national championship, plus he liked the guys on our team that played for CSU and he saw how good of a coach Flip is. He talked about transferring with many of us, but I don't think most of us thought he actually would. When I saw him in Vegas in a Rams jersey, I was a bit surprised to say the least :)

To partially answer your recruiting question, I never saw Flip pressure Tyler to come to CSU in any way. I don't know what they talked about in private, but I don't think Flip's the type to actively recruit players away from other programs. I'm not really sure about their recruiting other than that, but I can't think that the CSU name and history would hurt their recruiting efforts...

Flip switched him from attack to middie this fall because he wanted him to work on moving his feet more (instead of relying on his stickwork and fakes). I'm not sure if he's been moved back to attack or not, but from what Tyler told me, he's having a good time at CSU and is glad to be a Ram.

Good for Tyler. He was a great guy to play against. Good luck to him at CSU.

Alex would probly know more on recruiting than i would, i know that if we had someone intersted generally a few players would try and answer questions, flip may step in sometimes. as far as i know there is zero pressure for anyone to transfer. just show what the team is about and let them make the choice. i am sure it has to do with playing at a high level without pressures of big D-I programs.

Tyler is still running middie as of yesterday.

That is certainly a good recruiting pitch.

I know Farquhar transferred from Hobart as well as broke his leg in 2003. Does he have an extra year of eligibility?
