It is amazing to see how far we have progressed since starting a sticks only 6 on 6 lacrosse clinic on Sunday afternoons at the YMCA in the fall of 2000. This is only our second year of having an official "unofficial" high school league and while we are not yet ready to compete with the Minnesota and Missouri high school teams, we are excited to develop and improve our league.
Congratulations to former Colorado State lacrosse player Derek Koll, head coach of Papillion LaVista, on earning his first Nebraska High School playoff victory last night.

Congratulations to Creighton Prep the 2006 Nebraska High School Boys Lacrosse Champions. Prep makes it 2 years in a row.
Creighton Prep defeated Millard West in the championship game by 3 goals. This was an exciting, very physical game that was tied with about 5 minutes left until Creighton Prep pulled away.
In the 3rd place game, Westside defeated Papillion LaVista by 6 or 7 goals. I don't remember the exact score.

Just out of curiosity, in Nebraska how do the football coaches treat lacrosse as far as encouring or discouraging the kids to play? In South Carolina, where football and baseball are everything it's about 50/50 - some coaches do and some don't.

Congratulations to Head Coach Jay Coleman and the Hawklets on an undefeated season.
I've also heard that Creighton is getting an excellent middie in Brent Saer. Care to comment Coach Gilner?
