What are you guys thinking for all confrence Div B and Div A.

Congrats to Nick Hanson (Div A) and Brian Strauss (Div B) for leading their respective divisons in points.

Did you know that each year of the UMLL B Div a St. Johns freshman has lead the league in points (Ben Ivory 04, Nic Michaelson 05, and Strauss in 06)?

I would nominate either Brad Sparling or Mike Storts. They both play defense for UWEC.

I would also nominate the LSM for Bethel.

St. Thomas and St. Johns didn't play well when we played them, so I can't really pick someone from the two dominate B teams.

results might possibly come out tomorrow.

should be interesting.

as a whole, for our league especially, this has been a very interesting year. a lot of teams are experiencing rebuilding.

and to accompany the all-conference question, as it has in the past , do you think that the all-conference list should be this year's "all star" team (if they'll be represented at this year's boy's h.s. champ game)?

UWSP's goalie didn't look so bad when I watched him.

just a few names that stuck for me are bice from the U, sheppard from kato, hanson from cloud, nelson from duluth, and komo the goalie from point (sure the save percantage and gaa aern't that great, but he did an amazing job this year in front of a completely new rookie d unit.)

When it comes to naming people to to all conference honors i really think that points are overrated. Course they should be considered but not the first thing to look at. For example, the 2 leading players from div A are from st cloud. Compare their schedule to the 3rd and 4th points leaders from UMD. Quite the difference in diffuculty. Plus those 2 players from duluth have not played more than maybe 2 full games all season. When everyone else from other teams are playing practically a full game. I dont know that for sure. correct me if im wrong. I am not saying this to be baggin on st cloud or any team or to say certain people should be picked over others, jsut trying to make a point that the all conference team should be picked on other things besides straight points. Just something to ponder about. Thats my opinion and this is what forums are for. Let me know what you think.

An All-Conference team will always leave out the next guy's favorite. Can't please 'em all. Points, Nominations, etc. are all used as guidelines for when our league's executive board makes its final decision. When brewing up your All-Conference team think more along the lines of who would you want to represent our league in an actual game against the next league's A.C. team.

I am pretty sure teams have already put in their all conference nominations but... I think the thing you really need to look to for all conference and even AA's is "difference makers"- How would a certain team do if a guy was not on the field... i.e offensive guys that make things happen (draw slides, create etc) and help create for their team and create their own opportunities...defensive players who are shut down guys or leaders/QBs . Overall, I see All conference players as guys who make plays for their team, not just get points.

I agree as well. Another specific thing that goes along with Reilly's statement about offensive players is the assist talliers. A guy that can recognize where the slide is coming from to make that one last pass to get that almost guaranteed goal is a guy that gets my vote. Just my two cents to add...

I think he was tossing it out there as a point to think about when chosing AC's this year. It is the first time each team has selected their own team, and it is important that choices are made on grounds other than strictly points.

Remember that the choices each team makes for AC are to be used as a guideline by the directors who make the final decision and it's not merely a popularity contest.

And one other reminder - the Executive board INCLUDE PLAYERS - your Div A and B reps.

I wasn't able to stick around for the entire Division A championship game. Were the All-Conference teams announced at half time?
