Got to thinking about the fact that with conferences comes the awards so what better time to discuss.
Who will get votes, win, deserves recognition, etc. Please try to provide reasoning as well

Pat Ziess - LU Attack
Brian Nix - LU Attack
Andrew Schroeder - LU Defense
Chris Wolf - MU Middie
The 4 above are the best in the GRLC at their positions.
Tim Markham for the best referee! He has an eye to see things that others cannot. Thanks for all the hard work and great work this season.
Illinois State should get the team of the week for Riddell.
Thats all I have to say about that.

I agree with your choice of Ziess, Nix & Schroeder but you are way off at midfield. After seeing Illinois play, they have the most explosive midfield in the GRLC. The top 3 Illini middies have combined for 82 goals and 26 assist without running up the score on anyone. Zies, Nix and Combs have combined for 98 goals and 59 assists but are not rotating with other lines.
Kohl, Black and Schnitzer all should be first team all GRLC.

Chris Wolf at Mizzou is an attackman. I think Doug Mayer is the best goalie, but I haven't seen all the goalies and the only game I saw ISU's Brown play was against Lindenwood, and I don't think that was his best game. I know he can be dominant when he's on. And I've heard K State has a good goalie, but I didn't get to see them play all year.
Miles Chan, Wash U's attackman, was a beast all year, also and they have a great close defenseman, but I'm not sure what his name is.
Didn't get to see Iowa, Nebraska, Kansas, or K State so I'm not sure what they've got.
All the LU guys look good but I have trouble telling who is who, other than Zeis.

Iowa obviously won't have many, if any, garner all-conference awards but my guess if any, Mike Hake at attack was the leading scorer and possibly Kevin Egidi at defense. I didn't see any games but those are two of the better players I know of and from the small talks with Coach Kevin.

I think it's # 21 on Ill. State, fast middie with a good stick. I saw him against LU, he looked real good. Wash U has a good attackman as well, I think #1, who looked good. I don't know about first team or anything, just a couple of guys who deserve some recognition (sorry I don't know the names).

Bobby Brown- ISU- Great goalie, 19 saves against U of I, with their midfield is ridiculous, 1st team for sure.
Matt Zivilik- ISU- One of the best scoring attackman in the GRLC and should definitely be 1st team
Chaas Collins- ISU- Big strong defenseman, has a great stick and is great on the clear. (Actually ISU's starting defense all deserve some recognition, either 1st, 2nd, or 3rd team)
U of I's starting midfield is pretty sick they all deserve to be recognized too.

Best Attack
Zeis- by far LU's largest offensive threat scoring and feeding
Zivilik- Huge numbers from ISU's senior, big games against big teams (LU, MU, Ill.)
Wolf- MU Accurate feeder with numbers larger but comparible to Zeis
Chan- Big(in size) freshman jumped into the GRLC and put up numbers
Best Midfield
Kohl- Ill. - Devistating outside shot
Coursalt- LU- Shot + Good dodger
Swoboda? MU- As a freshman decent numbers as well as being a key face-off man
Defense
Don't know enough to comment
Goalie-
Bobby Brown- ISU's unorthodox lefty plays key role for their D
Doug Mayer- MU's Sophmore goalie also big part of MU's team[/code]

I know Illinois State players should not be posting, but I think as a defensemen credit should be awarded where credit is due. ISU has seen every team in this years play-offs so here goes.
First team attack
Zeis -(LU) is a small monster on the field and runs the offense well.
Zivilik-(ISU) is a patient player, who can shoot the lights out.
Brown-(WashU) is more versatile then Chan, and that makes him better.
I will put some imput into the FOGO (yet some don't exactly face off and get off) in no particular order:
Sutherland-u of i
Vozas-ISU
Swoboda-MU
Shaw-LU
Also just curious what are defensemen based on, I have noticed in past years the first team usually consists of stereotypical bigger defensemen, without taking anything away from last years team because they were definalely deserving, but as the saying goes "speed kills". Attackmen post some of those skilled poles.

This season I only was able to watch four of the A Division teams. In my opinion, both Hake and Egidi are deserving of recognition.

So that MUST mean that you've seen every LSM in the GRLC play this year!

Doug Sutherland is the FOGO for the Illini. His brother was all-GRLC & HM All-America last year as a FOGO. Some opposing coaches have said he is better at face offs than his brother was.

I was slightly confused when I saw Sutherland's name and couldn't figure out how he had eligibility left........then you mention it is his brother. Almost the same thing with Schnitzer as his brother went to high school with my one my good buddies and ex-Iowa laxer.
How has Hogan at Mizzou looked at LSM? He was very good my senior, his freshmen, year.
