Westra, Schroeder Earn Weekly Great Rivers Lacrosse Honors
Dordt’s Jason Westra (Hull, IA/ Western Christian) was tabbed as this week's Great Rivers Lacrosse Conference (GRLC) Player of the Week, while Lindenwood University’s Andrew "Fuzzy" Schroeder (Wildwood, MO./ Lafayette) has been named GRLC Rookie of the Week. Both accolades were announced Wednesday (March 29) by the conference.
Westra, a sophomore, made 23 saves in a 10-8 Division B victory over No. 10 Creighton. Dordt defeated their highest-ranked opponent this season. Against Nebraska - Omaha, Westra stopped 15 shots. Westra has recorded double-figure saves in six starts this season.
Schroeder, a freshman defenseman, was assigned the opposition's top attackman in each of the three games. Boston College's Brian Kinsella, Michigan's Evan Fox, and Arizona's Eric Poole were all limited to one goal each against Lindenwood.

Joseph Dodson, Illinois

Dodson scored eight goals and dished out two assists against two nationally ranked opponents last week. The sophomore attackman scored a season-high five goals against Oakland. He also recorded a hat trick with three goals versus Michigan State. On the year, Dodson has 16 goals and five assists.

Lighthall scored a career-high five goals for the Jays against GRLC rival Western Illinois. The freshman midfielder played most of the game and was a dominant force against the Leathernecks. Lighthall has four multi-point games this season and has tallied 12 goals and four assists.

Black contributed six goals and two assists for Illinois against nationally ranked foes Oakland and Michigan State last week. The freshman midfielder recorded five goals and three assists versus Oakland and had a goal and an assist against Michigan State. Black has five multi-point games this season and has tallied 14 goals and six assists.
