Division B talk

The GRLC board has been dead lately so I thought I would spark a little DivB discussion.

From what I can see it looks like Creighton and Harding are the front runners right now along with the restructuring SLU team. But I am interested to see what the Arkansas @ Harding score will be. Harding is the favorite to win but what will the point gap look like? Or what if Arkansas wins? It would make everything a lot more interesting.

There seems to be too big a gap between the winners and losers in DivB, it would be nice to see some closer competition instead of mostly blowouts. Only 4 or 5 games have been close, the rest look like wins by over 5 goals.

Just making conversation :)

The Creighton game at Nebraska-Omaha, scheduled for Thursday, March 23rd is postponed due to the weather. We are still hoping to get our games in against Dordt and Northwestern this Saturday, March 25th.

The RHIT v. SLU and RHIT v. Western Illinois games have both been cancelled for this Saturday due to snow / rain in Terre Haute, IN.

The SLU v. Rolla game is in St. Louis and will be played as scheduled.

Although it looks to be good competition against SLU and Creighton, i am wondering what these games against us (harding) will really look like. Last year, creighton beat us 12-10, but our starting goalie also had 4 minutes in unreleasable penalties. We were scored on with an inexperienced goalie between the poles 5 times during the 3 minute unsportsmanlike conduct penalty.
Usually i would give creighton the benefit of a doubt that they are a good team, but if you look at the games they have played, I see no real threat. They scored huge against cornell and south dakota, but who hasn't. Also, they only put up 5 against iowa, who is on the low end of GRLC A teams. I am not saying they suck, but i am wondering how much of a game they can put up against us.
St. louis makes more of an impact to me. They look to have a good set up, and its always a tough game against them. I'll be excited to play them.
What i am wondering about is western illinois, wheaton, and augustana. What is going on there? I ask because they seem to be doing good (excluding w. illinois), and no one ever talks about them. Whats up guys?

Wheaton's had some big changes coming into this year. We were a new team last year and played only 1 game with more than 12 players (even played our game against Cornell with no subs).
This year has proven to be a big year for development. We've had a number of solid offensive freshmen come in from legit highschool programs in addition to reviving a love for lacrosse in some seniors who had been tied up with football for the past few years.
Wins in our first two games (cornell and RHIT) have given us a good idea of what the rest of the season will look like. We're excited, but know we have some big challenges ahead of us. We understand that Augustana, who we play this weekend, has also improved this year and we have picked up a few games against UMLL div A teams.
We're excited about how this season is shaping up, but don't expect there to be a ton of talk about us unless we really do something to deserve it. We've only won 2 games and although that's better than last season, it's just a start for this year.

Let's see, everyone BUT Creighton would be the answer to your question because that was our only game of the season so far. No one else has "scored huge" against us because no one else has played us.

Creighton is an incredibly talented team. Their offense flat out knows how to score, and their goalie made some absolutely great saves against us. I am really looking forward to seeing the scores when Creighton plays both Harding and St. Thomas. I think both games will be ultra competitive.

I know everyone thinks that western is not the team that we were last year because we got crushed by SLU. i will never take away from the team that SLU is, but i will say that we had a very off day that we could not revcover from. it has been hard to judge our team between all the teams cancellations, and the midget field we played on at SLU. but next weekend we play creighton and augustanna so we will finally get to see what we are made of and what the division is made of. never judge a team by one game

first of all...you know better then to be starting crap on the boards. secondly...yeah the goalie did have a few big penalties, but lets go back and watch the tape, chreighton played a great game and did what they had to do to win, including taking advantage of key mistakes harding made. you riley above all should know that any team can win on any given day and a box score doesnt show how the game played out. you would also do well to remember getting beat by crieghton last year thinking it would be a fairly easy game to win, dont let history repeat itself. handle your business on the feild...not on the boards.

Let me please reiterate that i did not say creighton sucks. All I said is that i'm not too worried about them. I'm sure the game will be a good one, but i have no doubt that we can win. This post is about our opinions. My opinion is such. If someone was hurt by something i said, I apologize. Like my dad always said, "Opinions are like butts branden. Everyone has them, and everyone else's stink." If you don't like my opinions, too bad. You're not likely to change them.

hey how does everyone else finish out their seasons... we finish up with four top 20 team in slu#19, southwestern#20, creighton#10 and st. thomas#6 before crossover... kinda liking the no break tough schedule before playoffs to get us ready...i just realized that i guess some northern teams havent really played that much yet cuz of cold...

that brings up another question... would u prefer a long all semester one game a week or weeks off schedule or a short and sweet two or three games a week schedule when it gets warm...i do miss the northeastern winters but that doesnt meann i wanna take shots in it... so really just haha its really nice here and its snowing other places...
